Matthew 15:8

Mark 7:6‑7

6: He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

Isaiah 29:10‑14

10: For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets (pastors, ministers, priests, members of organized religion) and your rulers (government officials, bureaucrats, governors, senators, representatives and etc.), the seers hath he covered.

11: And THE VISION OF ALL (these as listed above) IS BECOME UNTO YOU AS THE WORDS OF A BOOK THAT IS SEALED, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

12: And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

13: Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men (here he is speaking of the Jews, through the tradition of the elders in Christ’s time today it is the Talmud):

14: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for THE WISDOM OF THEIR WISE MEN SHALL PERISH, AND THE UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR PRUDENT MEN SHALL BE HID (This is repeated in the book of Obadiah verse 8).

Therefore Zechariah told us the following about the Jews:

Zechariah 7:11‑14

11: But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.

12: Yea, THEY MADE THEIR HEARTS AS AN ADAMANT STONE, LEST THEY SHOULD HEAR THE LAW, AND THE WORDS WHICH THE LORD OF HOSTS HATH SENT IN HIS SPIRIT BY THE FORMER PROPHETS: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.

13: THEREFORE IT IS COME TO PASS, THAT AS HE CRIED, AND THEY WOULD NOT HEAR; SO THEY CRIED, AND I WOULD NOT HEAR, SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS:

14: But I SCATTERED THEM WITH A WHIRLWIND AMONG ALL THE NATIONS WHOM THEY KNEW NOT. THUS THE LAND WAS DESOLATE AFTER THEM, THAT NO MAN PASSED THROUGH NOR RETURNED: FOR THEY LAID THE PLEASANT LAND DESOLATE.
