Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (KJV)

Genesis 1:27: “So God formed man in his own likeness, in the likeness of God he formed him male and female.” (Moffatt Translation)

In every one of these Bibles this verse is translated the same: God created. Except for the Moffett Translation which uses the word formed instead of created. And in the Living Bible Translation (a very bad translation at best) which does not use either “created” nor “formed.” But, instead, uses the word “made.”

Therefore, it behooves us to look at the word “created.” which is the word most used by the various translations.

Created: Strong’s Concordance: #1254  bara' (baw‑raw'); a primitive root; (absolutely) to create; (qualified) to cut down (a wood), select, feed (as formative processes): ‑choose, create (creator), cut down, dispatch, do, make (fat).

Created: Brown-Diver-Briggs’ Definition: #1254  bara'‑

Genesis 2:7: “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (KJV)

Genesis 2:7: “And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (ASV)

Genesis 2:7: “Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” (NAS)

Genesis 2:7 “Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” (NAU)

Genesis 2:7: “The time came when the Lord God formed a man's body from the dust of the ground and breathed into it the breath of life. And man became a living person.” (TLB)

Genesis 2:7: “Then God the Eternal moulded man from the dust of the ground, breathing into his nostrils the breath of life; this was how man became a living being.” (Moffett Translation)

You will notice that all of the various translations stated: “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being” or words to that effect. This is a very important statement for God breathed life into this man (Adam) which He did not do for the other humans that He created. That is why the other races and peoples have so much difficulty understanding Israelites; Christians is because THEY DO NO HAVE THE SPIRIT OF GOD BREATHED INTO THEM; they are creatures devoid of the Spirit of God.

It is also one of the reasons that they have never had a civilization of their own, the antics of the jews to give them one notwithstanding. They are simply not capable of creating civilization. No people anywhere at any time have created a civilization, not even the Chinese, without the influence of the White Race, the Race of Yahweh. And it doesn’t matter the denunciations of others; that is a fact.

Now let us examine this word “formed.” We cannot use the word moulded, as used in the Moffett Translation because neither Strong’s Concordance, nor Brown-Diver-Briggs’ Definition has any reference to it, therefore we must use what we have access to, and that is the word “Formed.”

Formed: Strong’s Concordance: #3335  yatsar (yaw‑tsar'); probably identical with 3334 (through the squeezing into shape); ([compare 3331]); to mould into a form; especially as a potter; figuratively, to determine (i.e. form a resolution): KJV‑‑ X earthen, fashion, form, frame, make (‑r), potter, purpose.

Formed: Brown-Driver-Briggs’ Definition: 3335  yatsar‑to form, to fashion, to frame

1) used of original creation

2) used of individuals at conception

3) used of Israel as a people

a) to frame, to pre‑ordain, to plan (figurative of divine) to purpose of a situation

c) (Pual) to be predetermined, to be pre‑ordained

d) (Hophal) to be formed

In Strong’s Concordance we see clearly that he used #1254, but in Chapter Two Verse Seven he used the word Formed #3335, an entirely different word and number, which neither one refers to the other. This is true of Brown-Diver-Briggs’ Definition also.

Therefore, there can be only one conclusion; that being that there were two different times when God made a man: The first time He “Created” man and the second time He “Formed” man.

Many teachers, some who are very close to the truth, seem unable to come to grips with the fact that God “created” man and he “formed” Adam man. They overlook Genesis 2:5: “And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.” (KJV)

Genesis 2:5: “And no plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for Jehovah God had not caused it to rain upon the earth: and there was not a man to till the ground.” (ASV)

Genesis 2:5: “Now no shrub of the field was yet in the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the LORD God had not sent rain upon the earth; andthere was no man to cultivate the ground.” (NAS)

Genesis 2:5: “Now no shrub of the field was yet in the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the LORD God had not sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground.” (NAU)

Genesis 2:5: “and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground.” (NIV)

Genesis 2:5: “before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground.” (NKJ)

Genesis 2:5: “when no plant of the field was yet in the earth and no herb of the field had yet sprung up‑‑ for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no man to till the ground.” (RSV)

Genesis 2:5: “There were no plants or grain sprouting up across the earth at first, for the Lord God hadn't sent any rain; nor was there anyone to farm the soil.” (TLB)

Genesis 2:5: “There was as yet no shrub on earth, and no plant had sprung up: for God the Eternal had not sent rain on earth, andthere was no one to till the soil.” (Moffett Translation)

We can see by these verses that God had, indeed, finished creating the world and all the animals, fish and etc. But He saw that it lacked one thing still, and that was someone who would till the soil, work the soil, till the ground, work the ground; in other words do the work of a farmer.
