                  What Are The Bible Holidays?

God’s holidays were observed from the time of Noah, possibly before the flood. For we know that Noah was a preacher of righteousness (2 Peter 2:5). Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel observed the holidays. Moses, Joshua and the Kings of Israel observed the holidays.

The prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah and Joel kept the holidays. King David wrote about them in the Psalms. Two Old Testament books are completely about the holidays. One-third of the Gospels and two New Testament books are about the holidays.

Jesus Christ, Peter and Paul observed the holidays. They were observed in the New Testament until the year 64 A.D., for at least 3,500 years of, off and on, observance! All these holidays will be observed in the Kingdom of Christ when He sets it up here on earth.

None of the Jewish observances of the Bible Holidays are recorded correctly in their Talmud; such is their hatred of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have not gone to the trouble to go through and document the differences between the Jewish Holidays and the Bible Holidays, for that would take a very long time, and many volumes. If someone cares to do so, they can go to the library and get down the Jewish Encyclopedia, Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, Encyclopedia Judicia, Jewish Almanac and etc., and study it out for themselves.

They can also go to some of the larger university mathematic departments and get the students to write a program which will convert the time of 360 day years into our 365 day years and see what the difference is. The Jews calendar has some 5500 years, I don’t know the exact figure, but they count their days from when Satan deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden; and that is why their calendar has a different number of days since the beginning some 6,000 years ago. Also the Jews, as a people, did not exist until, Cain married and began to have children; which is why their calendar does not reckon time the same as the Christian world.

The Bible holidays have a lot to do with prophesy. Many verses, perhaps whole chapters are kept, at least in part, from our understanding when we do not observe The Bible Holidays.

“These are the feasts of the Lord your God which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.” (Leviticus 23:1-3)

“Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.” (Exodus 23:14)

First Time: Revival Time: Revival time begins with the Passover. The Passover is on the 14th day of Abib.Abib is the first month of the Hebrew calendar. Passover is about April 4th on the Gregorian calendar.

The 15th thru the 21st is the feast of Passover. It is also called The Days of Unleavened Bread. The 15th and 21st of Abib are annual holidays. In the New Testament they are called High Days.  In the Old Testament they are called Holy Convocations, that is church services. On the evening of the 15th a banquet dinner is held. It is called A Night to Be Much Observed. (Exodus 12:6-20, 23; 14-17,Leviticus 23:5-8; Numbers 9:2-5, 28; 16-25; 2 Chronicles 35:11; Ezekiel 45:21 and1 Corinthians 5:8)

In Zif, the second month, there is a Passover service for all those that were unable to keep the Passover in Abib. (Numbers 9:6-14 and2 Chronicles 301-3)

Second Time: Pentecost: Pentecost is in the third month of the Hebrew Calendar.(About the last week in May) Pentecost always falls 50 days after the ‘morrow after the Sabbath’ (Leviticus 23:11) occurring during the days of unleavened bread. Pentecost is known by three other names: (1) Feast of Harvest; (2) Feast of Weeks; (3) First Fruits of Wheat Harvest. (Exodus 23:16; Leviticus 23:10-22; Deuteronomy 16:9-10; 16-17)

Third Time Thanksgiving Time: There are four Holidays in the seventh month. The seventh month of the Hebrew calendar is Ethanim. This Fall holiday called The Feast of Trumpets is observed on the first day of this seventh month (About September 24th).

The 10th day of Ethanim is a holiday called The Day of Atonement. (About October 3) It is a day to consider our errors of the past year, repent and turn toward righteousness. (The Jews use this day in error to pray their pray of the Kol Nidre; a pray that allows them to break their word, contracts and etc., or to deal treacherously with people who are not Jews)

The Feast of Tabernacles is from the 15th to the 22nd day of Ethanim.  It is also called The Feast of Ingathering or Thanksgiving. The 15th and 21st are High Days.  We are to dwell in temporary residences during the feast. The 22nd day is called The Last Great Day. During the feast the Law must be read and explained before all young and old, citizen and foreigner. This Feast of Thanksgiving lasts from about October 8th until October 15th. (Exodus 23:14-17; Leviticus 23:27-44; Deuteronomy 16:13-17; Numbers 29:12-9; Nehemiah 8:14; Ezekiel 4525 and John 7:37)

At this point or even before, someone will probably say, “Yes, but, Christ did away with the Law” or perhaps, “Christ’s sacrifice did away with the ritual of the Law.” This point of view is being expressed with the understanding that the Holidays were a part of the Law or part of the rituals that WERE “done away with at the stake.” It is not the purpose of this study to “prove” the Bible Holidays.  It is assumed that, you, the reader already accepts them.

                         The Passover in History

                          Abraham Offers Isaac

1831 B.C.: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son,” (John 3:16) Abraham and Isaac, representing Father and Son, acted out Christ’s sacrifice. The story is found in Genesis 22. Additional information is available in The Book of Jubilees, Chapter 17 and the Book of Jasher, Chapter 23. If you have a copy of The Book of Jubilees begin reading in Jubilees Chapter 17.

Jubilees 17 lists Abraham’s trials, the seven times God tested him. As listed in Jubilees 17:17-18, they are:

(1) “in his country”

(2) “in the strange land”

(3) “with the wealth of kings”

(4) “with his wife in that she was torn from him”

(5) “with the circumcision”

(6) “with Ishmael and Hagar his maid, when he sent them away”

(7) “Isaac as a burnt sacrifice”

The Book of Jubilees: Jubilees 17:15-17 were quoted because the date is mentioned in verse 15, that date being the 12th of Abib. Genesis 22:4 further identifies the time Abraham offered Isaac,”Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place (for the sacrifice) far off.” (If Abraham could see the place from far off, it stands to reason that it had to be a high hill or mountain. Perhaps the same hill where Christ was sacrifice) Turning our attention to “the third day” mentioned in Genesis 224; Jubilees and Genesis combined identify the 12th of Abib as the 1st day of 3 days. The 2nd day would be the 13th and the 3rd day would be the 14th of Abib.

The story continues in Jubilees 18;17-20 and Genesis 2215-19. Genesis 22:17-18 describes the blessing given Abraham on the (most probably) 15th day of Abib. Recall that the 15th is a feast of God,”That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.”

Jubilees then continues the story where the Bible leaves off. Jubilees 18:20-21: “...and he (Abraham) celebrated this festival in all the years, seven days in joy, and called it ‘The Festival Of The Lord’ according to the seven days in which he had gone and returned in peace. And thus it is, and it is engraven and written in the tablets of heaven concerning Israel and its seed to keep this festival seven days in joy.”

In these chapters the Bible and the Apothecial writings are used as sources. The Apothecial books are our History Books. Many Apothecial books are mentioned in the Bible. For examples,

1). The Book of Nathan   1 Chronicles 29:29

2). The Book of Gad       1 Chronicles 29:29

3). The Book of Shemiah            2 Chronicles 12:15

4). The Book of Jehu      2 Chronicles 20:34

5). The Book of Jasher    2 Samuel 1:18

6). The Book of Iddo       2 Chronicles 13:22

In this book reference is made tot he Bible and three Apothecial writings. The Book of Jasher, The Book of Enoch and The Book of Jubilees.

The Book of Jubilees is made reference to the most because it is full of dates. The dating system of Jubilees is as follows; A Jubilee is 49 years. Each Jubilee is made up of 7 weeks of years. These 7 weeks are also called “7 Sabbaths of years.”

Jubilees 8:1 reads, “In the twenty-ninth jubilee, in the first week, in the first year thereof, Arphaksed took to himself a wife.”

In the 28th Jubilee would be 28 times 49 to equal 1,372 years. The “first year in the first week (of seven weeks) would be year one of the first week of years. Therefore Arphaksed took to himself a wife in the year 1,373. (1,372 +1 = 1373)

                            Israel Leaves Egypt

1462 B.C.: Starting in Isaiah 10:29-26: “...O my people which dwellest in Zion (America), be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.”

Our future deliverance may be similar to the deliverance of our fathers deliverance from Egypt. The past deliverance centered about God’s holidays. We cannot have a good understanding of the prophesies concerning our future deliverance without a good understanding of Bible Holidays! The deliverance from Egypt was prophesied by Enoch. A good understanding of past prophesies that have been fulfilled may help us to understand prophesies not yet fulfilled. A part of Enoch’s prophesy is herein quoted. You are encouraged to study the prophesies in the Book of Enoch.

                          Biblical Commands To

                               Keep This Feast

Exodus 12:14-26: (14) And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever. (15) Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread...even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. (16) And in the first day (there shall be) an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you...(24) And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons forever. (25) And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.  (26) And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

If we, as a nation of Israelites, had kept this command to instruct our children on the holidays, our children would know who we are and know our history. They would be reminded each year. This would be the subject of the Holiday sermons. From the young child unto the oldest golden-agers, we would all know our Israel identity.

Numbers 33:3: And they departed from Remises in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the Passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

Exodus 12:42: (42) It (is) a night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out from the land of Egypt; this (is) that night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

On the 15th of the 1st month we are to have church services (A Holy Convocation) and that evening a banquet dinner in celebration of our deliverance out of Egypt. Egypt is a type of sin. Later we will see that this is the very day that Christ delivered us from the bondage of sin through His death. For these two reasons “It is a night to be much observed.”

                      Joshua Crosses The Jordan

                        And Keeps The Passover

1422 B.C.: Joshua 4:19 and 5:10: “And the people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.”

The Story of Joshua’s crossing the Jordan actually begins in the Book of Deuteronomy. Moses spoke to the Israelites on the first day of the eleventh month. Moses speeches were made on the other side of Jordan in preparations for entering the promised land. (Deuteronomy 1:1-3)

Moses’ four speeches and the song he taught are:

1). Review Of Israel’s History After The Exodus And Its Lessons. (Deuteronomy 1:1-4)

2). Rehearsal Of The Sinitic Laws, With Warning And Exhortations. (Deuteronomy 1:5-26)

3). Blessings And Curses For Obedience And Disobedience.  (Deuteronomy 1:27-28)

4). The Palestinian Covenant, Its Warnings And Promised Blessings. (Deuteronomy 1:29-30)

5). Final Words Of Moses And Teaching Of The Song Of Moses. (Deuteronomy 1:31-34)

Apparently Moses’ speeches were prepared in advance and read to the congregation. This is indicated in places such as Deuteronomy 31:9and 31:24-26.

In Deuteronomy 31:10-13 Moses commanded the clergy saying: “(10) And Moses commanded them, saying, at the end of (every) seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the Feast of Tabernacles, (11) When all Israel is come to appear before the Lord thy God in the place which He shall choose, thou shalt read this law (The Book of Deuteronomy) before all Israel in their hearing. (12) Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that (is) within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the Lord your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: (The Book of Deuteronomy) (13) And (that) their children, which have not known (any thing), may hear, and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

The Song of Moses is recorded in chapters 32:1-43. After teaching the words of this song Moses said: “set your hearts to observe to do all the words which I testify among you this day, which y (politicians and clergy) shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. (47) For it (is) not a vain thing for you; because it (is) your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong (your) days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it. (Deuteronomy 32:46-47)

In our song book, The Book of Psalms, we are given several songs to sing at Passover and at Tabernacles (Psalms 78; 81; 90; 91; 105; 106; 135 and others). In addition we have The Song of Moses and The  Song of victory. The Song of Victory is found in Exodus 15. (You can get a set of three cassette tapes by the late Pastor Sheldon Emry. The complete set of three tapes, only $9.00. Order from: America's Promise Ministries, P.O. Box 157, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864)

Just as God prepared the people to enter the promised land of Canaan through the preaching of Moses, those ministers who know the Israel Truth are to prepare the people to enter the Kingdom of God, our future promised land, by preaching The Word. They have even been given their sermon subjects. In fact some of the sermons were given them by Moses all written out in advance.

                             The Fall of Jericho

1422 B.C.: Immediately after the Children of Israel kept the Passover in the Plain of Gilgal, they conquered Jericho during the Days of Unleavened Bread. God had earlier prepared the way by placing fear in the hearts of Israel’s enemies. He dried up the Red Sea and the Jordan River. “That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty; and that ye (Israelites) may fear the Lord your God forever. And it came to pass, when all the Kings of the Amorites...and all the Kings of the Canaanites...heard that The Lord had dried up the waters of Jordan before the Children  of Israel...that their hearts melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.” (Joshua 4:23-24, 5:1)

The Jordan floods its banks this time of year. The Amorites and Canaanites probably felt quite safe, at least until the flood season has passed. During the days of Unleavened Bread,

“ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go about the city once, Thus shall you do six days...and on the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets, and it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the rams horns, and ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout, and the walls of the city shall fall down flat,” (Joshua 6:2-5)

Then in verse 20 “the wall fell down flat.”

A careful reading of the history of the Exodus will reveal that the Israelites were frequently told in advance what would happen. At Jericho the people were told about a week in advance what would happen, God has said in Amos 3:7:

“Surely the Lord will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants, the prophets.”

He may tell us only a few days in advance as he did in Egypt and at Jericho. A good understanding of the Holidays will help us understand The Book of Revelation. The important thing to notice here is that the Egyptian army was destroyed in the Red Sea on the last day of the Days of Unleavened Bread. On the last day of the Days of Unleavened Bread the walls of Jericho fell. Likewise, will Babylon the Great fall on this day, also?

                                   Isaiah 43:2

When thou passest through the waters (of the Red Sea) I will be with thee; and through the rivers. (The Jordan River) They shall not overflow thee; and when thou walkest through the fire (We believe this to be a Nuclear War) thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

                            Hezekiah Did Good

1). Many From Israel Unite With Judah To Keep The Passover. (2 Chronicles 30:1-27)

2). Psalm 81

3). Idols Destroyed. (2 Chronicles 31:1-2; 2 Kings 18:4)

4). Hezekiah’s further Religious Reforms (2 Chronicles 31:2-21)

                      Josiah Keeps The Passover

623 B.C.: Josiah’s reformations and Jeremiah’s feast day sermons. Read them in this order:

1). The Passover Kept (2 Kings 23:21-23, 26-27; 2 Chronicles 35:1-19)

2). Josiah’s Further Reformations (2 Kings 23:4-20, 24)

3). Exile Unless Ways Amended. (Jeremiah 7:12)

                       Ezra Keeps The Passover

514 B.C.: The story of Ezra keeping the passover is found in Ezra 6:19-22.

                               The Passover In

                            The New Testament

8 A.D.: Joseph and Mary observe Passover and Jesus sits in the midst of the doctors. (Luke 2:41-50) Notice the clue in verse 43, “when they had fulfilled the days (of unleavened bread).”

26 A.D.: Christ drove the money changers out of the temple twice. The first time in 26 A.D.; the second in 29 A.D. These are recorded in Matthew 21:12; Mark 11:12-19 and Luke 19:45-46. On both occasions it was the 10th of Abib. Perhaps we can look forward to a modern day cleansing of the temple when Babylon the Great’s money system fails, most likely on the 10th of Abib. The conversation with Nichodemus was at Passover time. (John 2:13 to 3:21)

27 A.D.: Jesus heals the impotent man and keeps the Passover. (John 5)

28 A.D.: Events during Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread including Jesus’ feast day sermon, “I am the Bread of Life,” Read them in this order:

1). The Feeding of the 5,000 (Matthew14:13-21; Mark 6:30-44; Luke 9:10-17)

2). Passover At Hand (John6:1-13; Matthew 14:22-23; Mark 6:45-52; John 6:14-15)

3). Jesus Walks On Water (Matthew 14:24-33; Mark 6:47-52; John 6:16-21)

4). Reception At Gennesaret (Mark 14:34-36; 6:53-56)

5). I Am The Bread of Life (John 6:22-71)

                              The Last Supper

The Passover meal. (Matthew 26:17-29; Mark 14:12-31; Luke 22:7-39; John1:1-17, 26)

1). Who was to be the greatest? (Luke 22:24-30)

2). Foot washing ceremony instituted. (John 13:4-30)

3). Hymn. (Matthew 26:30; Mark 14:26)

4). Predication of Peter’s denial. (Luke 22:31-39; John 13:31-38)

A). A new commandment. (John13:31-5)

B). Let not your heart be troubled. (14:1-15)

C). Promise of the Holy Spirit. (John 14:16-31)

D). Vine and branches. (John 15:1-17)

E). Warning of persecution. (John 15:1-17; 16:1-4)

F). Comforting the Disciples. (John 16:5-33)

G). Farewell prayer for his own. (John 17:1-26)

                     Night To Be Much Observed

The Children of Israel were delivered from Egypt on Abib 15, 1462 B.C. Christ delivered us from bondage to sin Abib 15, 29 A.D. Egypt was a symbol for bondage of sin. In Exodus 12:42 it is called A Night To Be Much Observed.

Abib 15th is a Christian High Sabbath, yet it was the Jewish preparation day. Abib 16th was the Jewish High Sabbath. (Mark 15:42; Luke 23:54; John 18:38; 19:31, 42)

                           The Future Passover

Notice the pattern of days during the days of unleavened bread in 1462 B.C., and in 29 A.D.

29 A.D.                  1462 B.C.                                1981        1983                        1984

14th    Passover          Passover                    Passover   Passover                      Passover

15th    High Day          High Day                    High Day  High Day                      High Day

16th    Week Day        Week Day                  Sabbath    Week Day                    Week Day

17th    Week Day        Week Day                  Week Day            Week Day                    Week Day

18th    Sabbath            Sabbath                      Week Day            Week Day                    Sabbath

19th   Week Day        Week Day                  Week Day                        Sabbath                        Week Day

20th    Week Day        Week Day                  Week Day                        Week Day        Week Day

21st    High Day          High Day                    High Day              High Day          High Day

The Sabbath occurring during the days of unleavened bred can be on any day from the 15th to the 21st. The interesting point is that both years the pattern was the same. Here are several weeks. If this pattern is of any significance we can expect great things to happen in years such as 1984 rather than the years 1981 or 1983.

                      When Will Christ Return?

In Luke 21:8 we have Christ’s words, “Take heed that ye not be deceived; for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ (False teachers who will say that Christ is the Messiah, but in reality don’t believe that, but are deceiving their congregations into believing Jewish fables and false doctrines); and the time draweth near; go ye not after them.”

Today we find many Judeo-Christian clergymen claiming to be Christ’s representatives, saying that Christ is Lord. And that Christ could come at any moment. Christ said, “Go ye not after them.”

Those that have some understanding of prophesy do know that certain events must transpire before Christ will return. For example, 2 Thessalonians 2;2-3:

“that ye not be soon shaken in mind, or be troubled (by false prophets saying ‘the time draweth near’) neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that day of Christ is at hand. Let no (Judeo-Christian clergy) man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away (of our blindness) first, and that Man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”

The “falling away” is not apostasy as taught by the Judeo-Christian Clergy, but rather it is a falling away of the blinders. Thus allowing us to see, thus revealing the man of sin.

We are told in Amos 3:7: “God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” First let us not assume that “what” means “when.” Prophesy is given to build our faith in God, “That we may know that I am the lord.” (Read Exodus 6:1 6 and notice the phrase “That you may know that I am the Lord”). The prophesies that have been and are being fulfilled give us faith that Christ is god and He is able to keep His word. The study of his holidays give us confidence that He will return on a holiday. Which one? At this time we don’t know; we do know that the teaching that “Christ may return at any moment” is false doctrine and that we should have nothing to do with such a Judeo-Christian clergyman, “go ye not after them.”

Will we have advance notice of Christ’s return and if so how much notice can we expect? Let’s look at the record:

1). Egyptian to be destroyed                       2 days (Exodus 14)

2). Flesh to eat                                                       8 hours (Exodus 16)

3). Manna                                                              12 hours (Exodus 16)

4). Fall of Jericho                                                   7 days (Joshua 6)

5). Flood of Noah                                                  7 days (Genesis 7)

Many of us have assumed that Noah had120 years notice, not so, there is no record that God informed Noah of His decision that man had 120 years left. The record shows that prophesied events came to pass unexpectedly or on short notice. We usually know what will happen, nor always when it will happen. The fulfillment increase our faith in God. When we do know when, we have no evidence that we can expect more than seven days notice. Therefore Christ said, “Watch, for ye know neither the day nor the hour (when not what) wherein the son of man cometh.” (Matthew 25:13)

                                  A Warning

At the Exodus the death angel came “as a thief in the night.” Judas came “as a thief in the night.” The first two events took place at midnight of the Passover. Will the third event come at night during the Passover? How about a nuclear attack between midnight and dawn? The attack could come to destroy the wicked and cleanse the kingdom.  If so, only those observing the Passover will be safe!

Perhaps that is why we are told to observe the Passover. (1) “with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand” (Exodus 12:11) (2) “and none of you shall go out of the door of your house until the morning. (Exodus 12:22) (3) the Passover is not to be eaten in the city, those observing the passover outside the city are not to return home until morning. (Deuteronomy 16:5-7)

                Peter Spends Passover In Prison

45 A.D.: Acts 12:3: “(then were the days of unleavened bread) and when he (Herod) had apprehended him, he put him in prison... intending after Easter (Passover) to bring him forth to the people.” The rest of this chapter tells of how Peter was released from prison by an angel during the days of unleavened bread! Easter in verse 4 is the same word translated Passover in Matthew 26:2, 17-19.

Easter; Strong’s Concordance: #3957  pascha (pas'‑khah); of Aramaic origin [compare 6453]; the Passover (the meal, the day, the festival or the special sacrifices connected with it): KJV‑‑ Easter, Passover.

                        Paul’s Passover Letter

57 A.D.: In 1 Corinthians 5:1-13, notice the words, “Purging out  sin.” Leaven symbolizes sin. Notice that the immoral believer was removed from the church just as we remove sin from our lives. Verse 7: “...For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast...” The feast falls on the 15th. Some read right over this New Testament command to observe the days of unleavened bread and the two feast days, the one on the 15th and the other on the 21st. Let’s not apply to the Passover what apple is to the Feast. The Passover is not the feast. The Passover is a remembrance of Christ’s death till He returns.

Paul continues his Passover message in Chapters 6-10. In verse 16 of Chapter 10 he says, “the cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?”

Paul continues his Passover letter thru Chapters11-15.In Chapter15 he explains in verse 23 how Christ is “the Firstfruits.” The “firstfruits” have to do with the Wave Sheaf offering. The Wave Sheaf offering represented Christ and this ceremony occurred on the day following the weekly Sabbath during the days of unleavened bread. More about the wave sheaf later.

Paul’s whole letter in 1 Corinthians is a Passover letter to the Church at Corinth! In that letter he told them to keep the feast! Then Paul sailed away from Philippi “after the days of unleavened bread.” (Acts 20:6)

                      Peter’s Passover Sermon

65 A.D.: Read1 Peter and notice that this whole Book of the Bible is a Passover season sermon.

                              The Wave Sheaf

About forty years before the Israelites entered the promised land to reap their first harvest, they were given a ritual which is recorded in Leviticus 23:9-11. “(9) And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, (10) Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest; (11) And he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.”(Leviticus 23:9-11)

The Sabbath mentioned is the weekly Sabbath occurring during the Days of Unleavened Bread. Galatians 3:24 states that the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. It would not hurt to find out what that schoolmaster taught. We will find that in this case the schoolmaster’s teaching was prophesy, in fact prophesy that might not yet be fulfilled.

The wave sheaf of firstfruits was waved toward heaven to symbolize a presentation to God for its acceptance. This is explained in 1 Corinthians 15:20-23. The wave sheaf represents Christ so we read: “Christ(is) risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept...Every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.”

Fifty days after the wave sheaf offering came Pentecost.

“(15) And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: (16) Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord. (17) Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; (they are) the firstfruits unto the Lord.(18) And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be(for) a burnt offering unto the Lord, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, (even) an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the Lord. (19) Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.  (20) And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits (for) a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the Lord for the priest.” (Leviticus 23:15-20)

Here are two loaves which were prepared with leaven. At Pentecost these loaves were waved toward the heavens to be presented to God for his acceptance. The loaves were made from wheat. Wheat represents Christians. Leaven represents sin. The wave sheaf represented Christ. The two loaves represent the Christians in the first resurrection.

The fulfillment of the wave sheaf ritual came to pass and is recorded in John 20. In verse 1 we find the women coming to the tomb upon the first day of the week, in other words on the morrow after the Sabbath. In verse 17 Christ said to Mary, “Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father; and to my God and your God.”

The prophesy concerning the two loaves has not yet been fulfilled. We read about the future event in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17: “For the Lord will descend from heaven with a shout, and the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain (the two loaves) shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.”

Will this future fulfillment be on Pentecost or during the days of unleavened bread? One thing to notice, only those Christians observing Pentecost in 29 A.D., received the Holy Spirit in cloven tongues of fire. Only those Israelites observing the Passover in 1462 B.C., were safe from the death angel. therefore, only those Christians (Israelites) observing God’s holidays will be caught up in the air at Christ’s return.

Those not watching, that is not observing the feast days and not caught up’ could possibly be described in Matthew 24:50-51: “The Lord of the servant shall come in a (feast?) Day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of.”

With reference to what Christ knew was about to transpire on the Passover of 29 A.D., he said, “the hour is come” (John 17:1),

“And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 24:51)

Likewise, in 1464 B.C., when God passed over and slew all of Egypt’s firstborn, there was weeping and gnashing of teeth for all not observing the Passover.

                             Cain and Abel In

                          Genesis and Jubilees

Cain Slays Abel: (3874 B.C.) Cain slew Abel on the 14th day of Abib in the 102nd year of Adam’s life. The Chronological Bible Gives the Date of Adam’s Creation as 3976.   (3976-102=3874 B.C. Jubilees 3,4

7           Jubilees 3:14  “...in the 7th year exactly, in the 2nd month

Genesis 3:1           the serpent came and approached the

woman, and the serpent said to the

woman,  ‘Has god commanded that

you...’”

7           Jubilees 3:28  “And in the new moon of the 4th month

Genesis 3:23-24    Adam and his wife came out of the Garden of Eden...”

64-70   Jubilees 4:1           “And in the third week of the second

Genesis 4:1           Jubilee she gave birth to Cain.”

71-77   Jubilees 4:1           “And in the fourth (week of the second

Genesis 4:2           Jubilee) she gave birth to Abel. Note

According to the Book of Jubilees Cain

Was about 7 years older than Abel. Cain

Was born 57-64 years after the serpent

Seduced Eve.

99-105Jubilees 4:7           “And the first week of the third Jubilee,

Genesis 4:8           Cain slew Abel.” Note: The year can be

Identified more accurately as year 102

That Cain slew Abel because Adam and]

Eve mourned for Abel 28 years. Verse 7.

130       Jubilees 4?7          “And in the fourth year of the fifth week he

Genesis 4:25  became joyful and knew his wife again,

And she brought forth...Seth.”

With reference to the Passover, Jubilees shows that Cain was about seven years older than Abel. Further, Abel was 28-34 years old.

Now the question is, was the righteous Abel (Matthew23:35) a type of Christ? Was Abel slain when he was the same age as Christ? Was Abel slain at the exact spot when slain. Was Able, therefore, (exactly?) About the same age as Christ when he was slain.

Christ was slain? We cannot prove that the answer to many of these questions is “yes.” It is for you to form your own opinion.

The Passover in the Second Month

Question: What if an individual cannot keep the Passover on the first day of the first month?

Answer: Numbers 9:6-14: “If any man of you or of your posterity shall (be unable to keep the Passover on the 14th day of the first month), yet he shall keep the Passover unto the Lord. In the fourteenth day of the second month at even shall they keep it.”

Example: 2 Chronicles 30:1-13, “And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh that they should...they keep the Passover unto the Lord God of Israel. For the king had taken notice (of numbers 9:6-14 above mentioned) to keep the Passover in the second month, For they could not keep it at that time (14th of 1st month), because the priest had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together...”

The Holidays, The Key To Unlock

                       The Book of Revelation

In Joshua chapter 6 Israel marched around the city and blew trumpets once each day for six days. On the seventh day they went around the city and blew the trumpets seven times.

In Revelation 6-11 there are seven seals. The seventh seal is divided into seven trumpets. Exodus and Revelation both contain the following features.

1). Three woes and seven plagues                    Ten plagues.

2). After these 10 plagues Satan is bound         After the 10 plagues Mastema is bound

3). Satan is loosed                                  Mastema is loosed. (Jubilees 48:14-15)

4). Gog and Magog gather to battle                  Pharoah gathers to battle.

Our deliverance in the future is to be “after the manner of Egypt.”

Isaiah 10:24-26: “O my people which dwellest in Zion (America), be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt. For yet a little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction. (Their destruction is recorded in Ezekiel 38-39 which is about the Jewish/Communist invasion of America. The wicked Enemy (the Jews) to be destroyed, or taken off the earth is also recorded in (Numbers 16:26; 2 Samuel 4:11; Job 11:20; 18:5; 18:5; 21:17; 21:30; 31:3; Psalm 1; 69; 9:5-6; 9:16-17; 11:5-7; 31:17; 34:21; 37:8; 37:10; 37:14-15; 37:20; 37:28; 37:34; 37:38; 58:10; 68:2; 75:10; 92:7; 101:8; 104:35; 106:18; 112:10; 139:19; 145:20; Proverbs 2:22; 5:22; 10:30; 11:5; 13:9; 21:7; 24:20; 2 Esdras 13:9-11; 13:25-38; Ecclesiastes 8:10;  Jeremiah 6:29; 8:10-15; Isaiah 2:1-9; 11:4; 25:1; 30:27; 66:15-16, 24; Nahum 1:15; Zephaniah 1:3; Zechariah 14:21; Malachi 4:1-2; Matthew 13:36-38; 13:49-50; 21:41; 2 Thessalonians 2:8; Jude 1:1‑12). To show that the Jews are Yahweh and Yeashua’s enemies: (Psalm 17:9; 22:16; 27:2)) And the Lord shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter at Midian at the rock of Oreb.” (Isaiah 10:24-26)  “And as his rod was on the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.” (Isaiah 10:26)

                    Divine Protection For Those

                         Keeping The Passover

(1) Exodus 12:23: “For the Lord will pass through and smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will Passover the door (of those keeping the Passover), and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.”

Question: When in our time, the wicked are separated from among the just, could this happen on the Passover, and only those keeping the Passover kept safe?

(2) Jubilees 49:14-16: “And on the 14th, and on the 15th, and on the...and on the 18th day, the prince Mastema was bound and chained behind the children of Israel, so that he could not accuse the children of Israel. (15) But on the 19th day we let him loose, so that he could help the Egyptians, and that they could pursue the children of Israel... so that the Lord could smite the Egyptians and hurl them into the sea.”

Additional commands to keep the Passover; and divine protection: Jubilees (49) (1) Remember the command which the Lord commanded thee concerning the Pasch, that thou shalt keep it in it time on the 14th of the 1st month...(2) ye were engaged in eating the Pasch in Egypt while all the powers of Mastema were sent forth in Egypt to destroy all the first-born in the land of Egypt...(6) But, thou, remember this day all the days of thy life, once in the year, on its day, according to all the law thereof, and thou shalt not change the day for another day, or month for another month. (7) For it is an ordinance for eternity...concerning the children of Israel, that they shall observe each, year by year, in all their generations, and it has  no limit of days, for it is ordained for eternity...more instruction about the Passover...(10) for none of the children of Israel shall have any bone broken...additional instruction about the Passover...(12)... and that no plague come over them to kill them and to scourge them in that year (13) if they observe the Pasch in its time in everything as they have been commanded...(More instruction to the end of the chapter).”

                   A Health Principle Taught At

                      The Passover Ceremonies

Mortal man preserves his life by consuming life-giving foods. For man to continue living something must give up its life, whether it be plant life or animal life. If we do not eat living foods, and instead eat dead food such as refined flour or unclean foods as numerated in Leviticus 11, we will become sick and die. Yet, even living foods will keep us alive for only a few score years.

In the Old Testament times, eating the flesh of the physical lamb at the Passover identified the eater with the eternal life of the Lamb of God. In the New Testament times we eat bread and wine. The bread and wine represent Christ’s body and blood. Christ’s body and blood give eternal life. This explains scriptures such as: “Except ye eat the flesh of the son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Who so eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:53-54)

Later we will see that the words “at the last day” make reference to the last holiday of the year called “The Last Great Day.” Notice also in John 7:37: “In the last day, that great day of the feast (of Tabernacles), Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”

Most Judeo-Christian churches keep a “type” of Passover, yet, not “once in the year, on its day, according to all the law thereof: perhaps that is why Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:29-30: “For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.”

                                   Pentecost

A Feast of Covenants and Birthdays

               Noah-First To Observe Pentecost

231 B.C.: Pentecost was first observed by Noah. The story is told in Genesis 8:20 to 9:17, The Book of Jasher, Chapter 4 to 6 and Jubilee Chapter 6y. From Jubilees 6:

Terms of the Rainbow Covenant:

1). That there should be no more flood upon the earth to destroy the earth. (Jubilees 3; Genesis 9:11)

2). That the seasons shall continue forever. (Jubilees 6:3)

3). I will put your terror upon all that dwell on the earth in the sea. (Jubilees 4-5 and Genesis 9:2)

4). Noah and his descendants shall not eat blood. (Jubilees 6:6-9 and Genesis 9:3-4)

5). The agreement is forever. (Jubilees 10-13 and Genesis 6:9-10)

6). Divine protection is promised for obedience. (Jubilees 6:13)

7). Noah and his descendants are given a sign, the rainbow. (Jubilees 14 and Genesis 9:12-17)

Noah’s sons observed Pentecost until Noah died. (Jubilees 6:16) Pentecost was forgotten until Abraham, Isaac and Jacob observed it. (Jubilees 617) Moses commanded the Children of Israel to observe Pentecost (and the other holidays forever).” (Jubilees 6:18)

                   Abraham Observes Pentecost

1868 B.C.: The story of Abraham and Pentecost is found in Genesis 17 and Jubilees 14, 15, Jubilees summarized.

On the 1st day of the 3rd month, God appears to Abraham saying, “Your seed shall be as the stars of heaven and I will give you the land of Canaan.” In the Middle of the month Abraham observes Pentecost. (Jubilees 10) “And that day we made a covenant with Abraham according to the covenant we made this month with Noah.” (Jubilees 20)

Terms of the 1868 B.C., Covenant with Abraham (Genesis 17:1-14)

1). I will multiply thee exceedingly (Genesis 17:2)

2). Thou shall be the father of Many nations. (Not one nation of mixbreeds)

3). Name changed from Abram to Abraham. (Genesis 17:5)

4). Kings shall come forth of thee (Genesis 17:6)

5). I will establish this covenant with your descendants (Genesis 17:7)

6). I will give you the land of Canaan (Genesis 17:8)

7). Every man among you shall be circumcised (Genesis 17:10)

8). Sara’s name changed to Sarah (Genesis 17:15)

9). Sarah shall be the mother of nations and kings (Genesis 17:16)

10). Sarah shall bear a son that shall be called Isaac (Items 9,10 & 11 actually occurred later on following Pentecost)

11). The festival of this covenant is to be renewed unto eternity (Jubilees 14:20)

                     Jacob Observes Pentecost

1677 B.C.: Genesis 46 and Jubilees 44 summarized:

Joseph has sent for his father Jacob. Jacob feared to go down to Egypt because he remembered a dream that he had at Bethel. This happened on the 7th day of the third month. (Jubilees 44:1-2) Jacob celebrates Pentecost, then God appears to him saying: “I am the Lord, the God of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will make of thee a great nation; I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.” (Genesis 46:2-4; Jubilees 44:4-7)

                           God Marries Israel

                                On Pentecost

1462 B.C.: Exodus 19 begins “In the third month, when the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt.” Numbers 33 lists Israel’s encampments as they traveled from Egypt to Sinai. A close look at these encampments reveals that there were, for the most part, Sabbath day rests. From a study of the encampments we can determine that Pentecost was the sixth of Sivan (Also that Abib and Zif, the first and second month had 31 days each). Here is a detailed analysis of the day-to-day events leading up to Pentecost.

Proverb 25:2: “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; but the honor of kings to search out a matter.” To get the following sequence correct, we were given a few clues:

1). Moses asked permission of Pharaoh to go three days journey into the wilderness to worship God. These are the 15th, 16th, and 17th of Abib. The 18th was a Sabbath. (Exodus 3:18 and 5:3)

2). Three days journey from the Red Sea to Marah. Marah being the first Sabbath rest after passing through the Red Sea. (Exodus 15:22)

3). The15th of Zif was a Sabbath of rest at the wilderness of Sin. (Exodus 16:1-2)

4). Arrival at the wilderness of Sinai the same day of the week that they left Egypt. (Exodus 19:1)

                               Zif - 1462 B.C.

                    Sequence of Events Leading

                              Up to Pentecost

1st day: Sabbath observed at Elim. (Numbers 33:9)

2nd day: They removed from Elim... (Exodus 15:27)

7th day: They encamped by the Red Sea. (Numbers 33:10)

8th day: Sabbath observed at the Red Sea.

9th day: They removed from the Red Sea... (Numbers 33:11)

14th day: They encamped in The Wilderness of Sin. (Numbers 33:11) They also began to murmur (Exodus 16:2)

15th day: Sabbath observed at Wilderness of Sin; and Sermon about Manna. (Exodus 16:1-12)

16th day: Quails cover the camp; Manna provided. (Exodus 16:13-21) And they departed out of the Wilderness of sin... (Numbers 33:12)

22nd day: They encamped I n Dephkah. (Numbers 33:12)

23rd day: Sabbath events and sermon. (Exodus 16:24-36) And they departed from Dephkah... (Numbers 33:13)

29th day: Sabbath observed at Elish. (Numbers 33:13)

30th day: One day’s journey to Rephidim. Murmuring about water from rock. (Exodus 17:1-8)

31st day: Amalek fights with Israel at Rephidim. (Exodus 17:8-16)

                       Third Month - 1462 B.C.

When do the months start? In the Hebrew Solar Calendar the first days of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter are the first days of the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th months. The individual months are determined by the signs of the Zodiac. Each sign for a month and each sign for a tribe of israel.12 tribes,12 signs, and12 months. In the Bible the Israelites are called “the stars of heaven.” The Jewish Lunar/Solar calendar’s months are based upon the Moon and Spring Equinox.

2th day: Arrival at The Wilderness of Sinai. (Numbers 33:15, Exodus 19:1-2) Clue. “The same day (of the week) they were gone forth out of the land of Egypt.” The 15th of Abib was the 4th day of the week just as this is the 4th day of the week.

3th day: A visit by Jethro. (Exodus 18:1-2) Moses ascends the mount and is told, “Sanctify the people today and the morrow and be ready against the third day. (Exodus 19:11)

5th day: Jethrow advises Moses. (Exodus 18:13-27)

Sabbath day: Third day of sanctification. Thunder, lightnings and smoke and the voice of a trumpet on the mountain. (Exodus 19:16)

6th day: Holiday Pentecost.  The Ten Commandments given to Israel... (Exodus 20:1-24; and Jasher 48) 50th day from”morrow after the Sabbath.”

                           The Book of Jasher

                                  Chapter 82

1). And the children of Israel proceeded from Rephidim and they encamped in the wilderness of Sinai, in the third month from their going forth from Egypt.

2). At that time came Reuel the Midianite, the father in law of Moses, with Zipporah his daughter and her two sons, for he had heard of the wonders of the Lord which he had done to Israel, that he had delivered them from the hand of Egypt.

3). And Ruel came to Moses to the wilderness where he was encamped, where was the mountain of God.

4). And Moses went forth to meet his father in law with great honor, and all Israel was with him.

5). And Ruel and his children remained amongst the Israelites for many days, and Reuel knew the Lord from that day forward.

6). And in the third month from the children of Israel’s departure from Egypt, on the sixth day thereof, the Lord gave to Israel the ten commandments on mount Sinai.

7). And all Israel heard all these commandments, and all Israel rejoiced exceedingly in the Lord on that day.

Please be aware that the Ten Commandments were not the only Laws that God gave Moses on Mount Sinai; there were others but they were on the first stone tablets God gave Moses and were destroyed when Moses became angered and destroyed the golden calf.

Question: Did the Second Tables of Stone given to Moses by God have less writing on them than was on the first which was broken by Moses?

Answer: After Moses had broken the first tables which God had given him: "... the Lord gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant." (Deuteronomy 9:11)

Which two had been written by God Himself!

"And the Lord delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the Finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the Lord spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly." (Deuteronomy 9:10)

The second tables were also inscribed by God but only with the Ten Commandments. "And he (God) wrote on the tables, according to the first writing the ten commandments..." (Deuteronomy 10:4)

Here we can clearly see that God omitted all but the Ten Commandments. For the first set of tables contained, not only the Ten commandments, but all the words...God spoke to them at Mount Sinai.

                     Where Do Some Churches

                            Get ‘Whitsunday’?

On Pentecost it became a tradition to baptize new convents in special gleaming “white garments.” After many years Pentecost came to be known as White-Sunday or Whitsunday, the Book of Revelation was the source of the symbolism. “And to her (The Bride of Christ: Israel) was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white; for fine linen is the righteousness of saints.”

WHIT’SUNTIDE, n. [white, Sunday, and tide] The feast or season of Pentecost; so called it is said, because, in the primitive church, those who had been newly baptized appearing at church between Easter and Pentecost in white garments. (Johnson, Cyclopedia; American Dictionary of The English Language, Noah Webster 1828, p. 112)

                       The Second Reformation

                           Four Years of Peace

912 B.C: King Asa of Judah observed Pentecost in “the third month” (2 Chronicles 15:10) and made a covenant with the Lord. For the whole story read in this order:

Reforms In Worship                                 2 Chronicles 15:8-15

Covenant Renewal                                     2 Chronicles 15:9-15

Queen Removed                                         1 Kings 15:13 & 2 Chronicles 15:16

The first reformation in 926 B.C., is recorded in 2 Chronicles 14:1-5 and 1 Kings 15:9-11.Notice that there remain two customs within Christianity today that have to do with Passover and the days of unleavened bread. One is the so-called Revival that vari0us churches have from time to time. The other is”Spring house cleaning.” It was the custom to remove all leaven from the household prior to Passover. It symbolized the putting out of sin. What is left of this custom is Spring house cleaning.

                             Christ’s Birthday

4 B.C.: There is a lot of confusion about Christ’s birthday. Some say that He was born in the dead of the Winter at Christmas. Others believe that he was born in the Fall. The Book of Jubilees gives us important evidence leading us to the fact that He was born on Pentecost.

Isaac’s Birthday: Jubilees 16:1-3: “And at the new moon of the first month we appeared to Abraham...and we announced that a son would be given to him (from Sarah) and that his name would be called Isaac.”

Jubilees 16:11: “And in the middle of the sixth month the Lord visited Sarah and did unto her as he had said, and she conceived...”

Jubilees 16:12: “And we returned in the seventh month and found her (Sarah) pregnant.”

Christ’s Birthday: Luke 1:26-31: “And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God...(27) to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph...(31) thou shalt conceive a son, and call his name Jesus.”

Is it possible that Christ was conceived on the first day of the seventh month, the Feast of Trumpets?

3rd Hebrew month9th of 9 months    May

The ninth month of the pregnancy would fall due in the middle of the third month of the year. Coinciding that Isaac was a type of Christ and:

1). Both were announced before conception.

2). Both named before conception.

3). Both conceived in the sixth month.

4). Both offered up on the14th of the 1st month, most probably in the exact same location.

5). God obviously is very date conscious. He just does not, as the record shows, appear, make covenants, etc., on just any old day.

The conclusion is that both Isaac and Jesus Christ were born on Pentecost, the same is the birthday of the New Testament Church.

                     Christ Observes Pentecost

26 A.D.: “And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.” (Luke 4:16)

The Greek words translated “Sabbath day” read literally “day of weeks.” This is a different expression than is used when an ordinary Sabbath is meant. Deuteronomy 16:9-10 tells what is meant, the “day of weeks” is known as the “feast of weeks.” In Numbers 28:26 Pentecost is called the day of firstfruits.”

The events of that Pentecost day are recorded in Luke 4:16-30. Notice in verse 21 he stated that Isaiah 61:1-2 was fulfilled on that day of Pentecost. Verse 21: “This (Pentecost) day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”

                           The Birthday of The

                        New Testament Church

29 A.D.: The events of Pentecost,29 A.D., are recorded in Acts 4:3:

1). The Infilling of the Holy Ghost                                       Acts 2:1-13

2). Peter’s Sermon                                                             Acts 2:14-37

3). Baptizing of 3,000                                                         Acts 2:37-47

4). The Healing of the Lame Man                                       Acts 3:1-10

5). Peter’s Second Sermon                                                Acts 3:11-26

6). Peter and Others Arrested

And put in jail by Sadducees                                          Acts 4:1-3

The Healing of the Lame Man

The lame man represents modern day Israel in America. America sits at the door of the bankers temple begging for, money, When America obeys Christ’s command to”rise up and walk,” (Acts 3:6) will it be done on a future day of Pentecost?

See Isaiah 35:6 where this is prophesied, ‘then shall the lame man leap as a heart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and the streams in the desert.” In grade school we older Americans were taught that the North American Continent was called “The Wilderness.”

Recall that Christ married Israel in the wilderness. God divorced Israel. The two thieves crucified with Christ represent Israel and Judah. To the “Israel” thief He said, “Today, I say unto you, you will be with me in paradise.” To the other thief, the Jews, He spoke not a word.

The coming wedding feast of the lamb, will the wedding be on a future Pentecost when all Israel, the whole nation says with one voice, “All the Lord Jesus Christ has spoken we will do.”

                        Has The New Covenant

                          Been Countersigned

A covenant is an agreement between two or more parties...It may be confirmed by an oral promise, in writing, a handshake, etc. The Old Covenant was made at Sinai. The agreement was basically as follows:

1st party: ”If you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine.” (Exodus 19:5)

2nd party: “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” (Exodus 19:8)

This covenant was broken and a new covenant was promised in Jeremiah 21:31-34: “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I (Brought) took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake (Continually), although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

Millions believe that the New Covenant is in full force and effect today, yet is it? The gospel is greeted with either rebellion or lethargy as mentioned in Ezekiel 2. Their reaction to the minister’s preaching is described in Ezekiel 3:7:

“But the House of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me; for all the House of Israel are impudent and hard hearted.”

Also in Ezekiel 33:31-32: “and they (parishioners) come unto thee...and they hear thy words, but they will not do them. For with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness...for they hear thy words but they do them not.”

Jeremiah 31:33 states that the New Covenant will be made “after those days.” After what days?

The answer is found in Hebrews 8:13: “In that he said, a new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxed old is ready to vanish away.” Paul wrote these words in 65 A.D. This would be about 35 years after Christ’s death and resurrection. In the year 65 A.D., Paul said that the Old Covenant still existed and waxing old and ready to vanish away, therefore, in 65 A.D., the Old Covenant was still in existence!!!

In the 9th chapter of Daniel we are told that Christ would confirm the covenant with many for one week and that He would be cut off in the middle of that week. So, Christ is still to confirm the covenant with many for another three and one-half years. Hebrews 8:13; Jeremiah 31:33 and Daniel 9 tells us that the New Covenant is yet future, at least in a national sense. Individual Christians may live under the terms of the New Covenant which they agree to at Baptism, yet a brief look at the modern day world verifies that Jeremiah 31:31-34 has not yet come to pass.

Again, after the future deliverance can we look forward to a Pentecost Day at which time The New Covenant will be made between Christ and all of Israel on a national scale.

             Paul Observes Pentecost At Antioch

46 A.D.: “and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.” In Acts 13:14, “the Sabbath day” mentioned is of the same Greek expression as found in Luke 14:16 above. Paul’s Pentecost sermon is recorded in Acts 13:15-52. The Acts 16:13, “Sabbath day” is of the same construction as above. The events of Pentecost 51 A.D., are recorded in Acts 15.

                     Paul Hurries To Jerusalem

57 A.D.: 1 Corinthians 16:8: “But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.” Acts 20:16: “For Paul determined to sail by Ephesus because he would not spend the time in Asia; for he hasted, if it were possible for him to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

                          Sermon Material For

                         The Day of Pentecost:

“When it shall come to pass that your children may say unto you, What mean ye by this service?” (Exodus 12:26) Tell them:

1). About Abel, Isaac and Christ.

2). About Noah, who first observed Pentecost.

3). About Abraham, Jacob, King Aza and others that observed Pentecost.

4). About the marriage between God and Israel at Sinai.

5). About the birthday of the New Testament Church on Pentecost.

6). What may happen in the future on Pentecost.

7). That Pentecost is a day of Covenants, Birthdays, Marriages and the day that God appeared to His people more times than any other day of the year.

8). That our children may always know our Israel Identity.

9). A Baptismal service: The Problem: One person said that he was baptized three times. 1st, the right way for the wrong reason. 2nd, the wrong way for the right reason. 3rd, the right way for the right reason. Now he is attending a different church and the minister says his past baptisms are flawed. Not an unusual situation. In our confusing world many don’t even remember how or why they were baptized. What to do. While a person may be baptized at any time of the year, we should have a Baptismal service at Pentecost for new and old. Let anyone be rebaptized for whatever reason they feel comfortable with. Some may simply want to renew their covenant.

                           Feasts of Trumpets

                       “Abram Leaves Haram”

1892 B.C.: In Genesis 12:1, God tells Abram to leave Haram. The same story is told in Jubilees 12:17-28, the time is given in verse 17, “the first day of the seventh month.”

                   Feast Days First Enumerated

1461 B.C.: Leviticus 23:2: “...concerning the feasts of the Lord which ye shall proclaim to be holy Convocations, even these are my feasts...(24) In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.

Here is pictured the time when Christ shall come again, in clouds with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God. (Thessalonians 4:14-17) And it shall be “at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:18)

Revelation 11:15: “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.”

Isaiah 27:13: “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they (Israel/America) shall come which were ready to perish (Can there be any doubt that it looks like America is very near to perishing at the present time?)...”

                                    Psalm 81

(1) Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. (2) Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. (3) Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. (4) For this {was} a statute for Israel, {and} a law of the God of Jacob. (5) This he ordained in Joseph {for} a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: {where} I heard a language {that} I understood not. (6) I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots. (7) Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah. (8) Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me; (9) There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god. (10) I {am} the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. (11) But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. (12) So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: {and} they walked in their own counsels. (13) Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, {and} Israel had walked in my ways! (14) I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries. (15) The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. (16) He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.”

                  Nehemiah Observes Trumpets

444 B.C.: Nehemiah 8:1-12: “(1) And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that {was} before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel. (2) And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month. (3) And he read therein before the street that {was} before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people {were attentive} unto the book of the law. (4) And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Messiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, {and} Meshullam.(5) And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up: (6) And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshiped the lord with {their} faces to the ground. (7) Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people {stood} in their place. (8) So they red in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused {them} to understand the reading. (9) And Nehemiah, which {is} the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, this day {is} holy {unto} the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. (10) Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. (Aza) So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day {is} holy; neither be ye grieved. (12) And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.”

Here we find the people attending a morning and afternoon service. The balance of the day was spent feasting. Did you notice the effect that the sermons had upon the people/ the effects were, weeping mourning and grieving.

The reason is found in Isaiah 59:1-2: “(1) Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. (2) Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.”

With verse three Isaiah begins to talk about the Day of Atonement, which is the next feast. The Day of Atonement is day wherein we consider our ways of the past year, turn from our sins resolving to do them no more. The Feast of Trumpets sermon is to point out our sins so that we may know what to turn from. On the Day of Atonement the clergy are to “lift their voices like a trumpet” and “shew my people their sins.”

But the Jews completely reverse this and pray their If you have ever had any business dealings with the Jews you probably noticed that they very seldom kept their word, even a written contract, in the business you conducted with them. Well the reason that their word is not worth a plug nickel, so-to-speak, is because of the Kol Nidre Oath they take every year when they celebrate the Day of Atonement.

Kol Nidre: It is the prologue of the Day of Atonement services in the synagogues. It is recited three times by the standing congregation in concert with chanting rabbis at the alter. After the recital of the "Kol Nidre" (All Vows) prayer the Day of Atonement religious ceremonies follow immediately. The Day of Atonement religious observances are the highest holy days of the "Jews" and are celebrated as such throughout the world. The official translation into English of the "Kol Nidre" (All Vows) prayer is as follows: "All vows, obligations, oaths, anathemas, whether called 'konam,' 'konas,' or by any other name, which we may vow, or swear, or pledge, or whereby we may be bound, from this Day of Atonement unto the next, (whose happy coming we await), we do repent. May they be deemed absolved, forgiven, annulled, and void and made of no effect; they shall not bind us nor have power over us. The vows shall not be reckoned vows; the obligations shall not be obligatory; nor the oaths be oaths."

The implications, inferences and innuendoes of the "Kol Nidre" (All Vows) prayer are referred to in the Talmud in the Book of Nedarim, 23a‑23b as follows: "And he who desires that none of his vows made during the year shall be valid, let him stand at the beginning of the year and declare, every vow which I make in the future shall be null (1). (HIS VOWS ARE THEN INVALID) providing that he remembers this at the time of the vow." (Emphasis in original) A footnote (1) relates: "(1)...The Law of Revocation in advance was not made public." (Emphasis in original text)

The greatest study of the "Kol Nidre" (All Vows) prayer was made by Theodor Reik, a pupil of the [I]nfamous Jewish Dr. Sigmund Freud. The analysis of the historic, religious and psychological background of the "Kol Nidre" (All Vows) prayer by Professor Reik presents the Talmud in its true perspective. This study is contained in "The Ritual, Psycho‑Analytical Studies." In the chapter on the Talmud, page 163, he states: "The text was to the effect that all oaths which believers take between one Day of Atonement and the next Day of Atonement are declared invalid."

The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia confirms that the "Kol Nidre" (All Vows) prayer has no spiritual value as might be believed because it is recited in synagogues on the Day of Atonement as the prologue of the religious ceremonies which follow it. The secular significance of the "Kol Nidre" (All Vows) prayer is forcefully indicated by the analysis in Vol. VI, page 441: "The Kol Nidre has nothing whatever to do with the actual idea of the Day of Atonement...it attained to extraordinary solemnity and popularity by reason of the fact that it was The first Prayer recited on this holiest of days."

God’s holidays are designed to teach the law, covenants, etc. They also cause people to put sin out of their lives on a personal level during the Days of Unleavened Bread and on a national level on the Day of Atonement. The Feast of Trumpets is in preparation for the Day of Atonement. After we put sin out of our land on a national level we are prepared to enter the kingdom represented by the Feast of Trumpets.

              Prophetic Significance of Trumpets

It should be obvious by this time that God does certain things at certain times, especially on His appointed feasts. The prophetic significance of Passover-unleavened bread and Pentecost were fulfilled on the exact day indicated. In that respect the Holidays are prophesies.

Had the 120 disciples not been observing Pentecost, on the correct day, would they have received the Holy Spirit? The words observe and watch are very similar, is it possible?

1). We are told to “observe” the Feast of Trumpets.

2). Christ told us to “watch therefore.”  (Matthew 25:13)

3). Matthew 25:13: “Watch (What?) therefore, for you know neither the day (What day?) Nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh.”

Since watch is very close to observe, could Matthew 25:13 mean: “Watch (observe) therefore, for you know neither at the(Feast of Trumpets, i.e, in what year) nor the hour of that (Feast of Trumpets day) in which the Son of Man Cometh.”

Is it possible that many of the times the words “that day” or “the such” and so number of days? The feast days are referred to? Also consider this: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2: “But of the times (Years?) And the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of (Christ) so cometh as a thief in the night?”

                      The Flood of Noah’s Day

2439 B.C.: The first reference to the Day of Atonement concerns the flood, it is found in Jubilees Chapter 5, “(2) injustice increased over the earth...and all flesh corrupted its way (Miscegenation)...(3)... And the Lord looked upon the Earth, and behold it was corrupt...(4)... and he said, I shall destroy mankind...and Noah alone found grace before the eyes of the Lord. (8) And (during their last 120 years) (7) he sent (warfare) that each should slay his neighbor. (Comment: Like WWI and WW2?)...(10) and he destroyed all their places. A mighty act of destruction from God to terrify men into repentance, yet they would not.  (Jasher 6:11) (On the what seems to be the 10th of the 7th month?) (15) Therefore, it is written and ordained, if (The Children of Israel) shall turn to him in righteousness, he will remove all their guilt and pardon all their sins. (16) It is written and ordained that he will show mercy to al who turn from all their errors once each year.”

Here we see that the Earth may have been destroyed because people did not observe the Day of Atonement. We are reminded that “As in the days of Noah, so shall the days of the Son of Man be.” (Luke 17:26)

We learn from Genesis 6 and 7, Matthew 24:37 and Luke 17:26-27 that people were:

1). Race mixing

2). Eating unclean foods

3). Drunkenness

From the Book of Jasher 4:16-18

1). Adultery, Robbery, (Crooked businessmen, Luke1728) and violence.

2). Crooked judges and rulers

3). Hybrid animals and crops (Verse 18 plus Luke 17:28)

From Jubilees

1). Wars and rumors of wars during last 120 years

The detailed story of the food is found in Jasher, Chapters 4-6.

“(2)...before thee, and such of them as shall come and crouch before thee, shalt thou take and deliver into the hands of thy sons, who shall bring them to the ark, and all that will stand before thee thou shalt leave. (3) And the Lord brought this about on the next day, and animals, beasts and fowls came in great multitudes and surrounded the ark. (4) And Noah went and seated himself by the door of the ark, and of all flesh that crouched before him, he brought into the ark, and all that stood before him he left upon earth. (5) And a lioness came, with her two whelps, male and female, and the three crouched before Noah, and the two whelps rose up against the lioness and smote her, and made her flee from her place, and she went away, and they returned to their places, and crouched upon the earth before Noah. (6) And the lioness run away, and stood in the place of the lions. (7) And Noah saw this, and (At the height to which even the animals of the earth had corrupted themselves, that the young whelps could so unnaturally rise up against their parent in such a time of disaster) wondered greatly, and he rose and took the two whelps, and brought them unto the ark. (8) And Noah brought into the ark from all living creatures that were upon earth, so that there was none left but which Noah brought into the ark. (9) Two and two came to Noah into the ark, but from the clean animals, and clean fowls, he brought seven couples, as God had commanded him. (10) And all the animals, and beasts, and fowls, were still there, and they surrounded the ark at every place, and the rain had not descended till seven days after. (11) And on that day, the Lord caused the whole earth to shake, and the sun darkened, and the foundations of the world raged, and the whole earth was moved violently, and the lightening flashed, and the thunder roared, and all the fountains in the earth were broken up, such as was not know to the inhabitants before; and God did this mighty act, in order to terrify the sons of men, that there might be no more evil upon earth. (12) And still the sons of men would not return from their evil ways, and they increased the anger of the Lord at that time, and did not even direct their hearts to all this. (13) And at the end of seven days, in the six hundredth year of the life of Noah, the waters of the flood were upon the earth. (14) And all the fountains of the deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened, and the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. (15) And Noah and his household, and all the living creatures that were with him, came into the ark on account of the waters of the flood, and the Lord shut him in. (16) And all the sons of men that were left upon the earth, became exhausted through evil on account of the rain, for the waters were coming more violently upon the earth, and the animals and beasts were still surrounding the ark. (17) And the sons of men assembled together, about (It must be remembered, that according to this book, a third part of the earth had already been destroyed by the overflowing of the river Gibon. See Chapters 2, verse 6) seven hundred thousand men and women, and they came unto Noah to the ark. (18) And they called to Noah, saying, open for us that we may come to thee in the ark; and wherefore shall we die! (19) And Noah, with a loud voice, answered them from the ark, saying, have you not all rebelled against the Lord, and said that he does not exist? And therefore the Lord. brought upon you this evil, to destroy and cut you off from the face of the earth. (20) Is not this the thing that I spoke to you of one hundred and twenty years back, and you would not hearken to the voice of the Lord, and now do you desire to live upon earth? (21) And they said to Noah, we are ready to return to the Lord; only open for us that we may I’ve and not die. (22) And Noah answered, them, saying, behold now that you see the trouble of your souls, you wish to return to the Lord; why did you not return during these hundred and twenty years, which the Lord granted you as the determined period? (23) But now you come and tell me this on account of the troubles of your souls, now also the Lord will not listen to you, neither will he give ear to you on this day, so that you will not now succeed in your wishes. (24) And the sons of men approached in order to break into the ark, to come in on account of the rain, for they could not bear the rain upon them. (25) And the Lord sent all the beasts and animals that stood round the ark. And the beasts overpowered them and drove them from that place, and every man went his way and they again scattered themselves upon the face of the earth. (26) And the rain was still descending upon the earth, and it descended forty days and forty nights, and the waters prevailed greatly upon the earth; and all flesh that was upon the earth or in the waters died, whether men, animals, beasts, creeping things or birds of the air, and there only remained Noah and those that were with him in the ark. (27) And the waters prevailed and they greatly increased upon the earth, and they lifted up the ark and it was raised from the earth. (28) And the ark floated upon the face of the waters, and it was tossed upon the waters so that all the living creatures within were turned about like pottage in the cauldron. (29) And great anxiety seized all the living creatures that were in the ark, and the ark was like to be broken. (30) And all the living creatures that were in the ark were terrified, and the lions roared, and the oxen lowed, and the wolves howled, and every living creature in the ark spoke and lamented in its own language, so that their voices reached to a great distance, and Noah and his sons cried and wept in their troubles; they were greatly afraid that they had reached the gates of death. (31) And Noah prayed unto the Lord, and he cried unto him on account of this, and he said, O Lord help us, for we have no strength to bear this evil that has encompassed us, for the waves of the waters have surrounded us, mischievous torrents have terrified us; answer us, O Lord, answer us, light up thy countenance toward us and be gracious to us, redeem us and deliver us.

                  The Apparent Death of Joseph

1700 B.C.: Joseph’s being thrown in the pit is told of in Genesis 37, Jasher 41-43 and Jubilees 34: Jubilees 34:10-20: “And he (Jacob) sent Joseph to learn about the safety of his brothers, from his house in Shechem, and he found them in the land of Dotham. (11) And they (His brothers waylaid him (Joseph) and made a plot against him to slay him; and changing they sold him to Ishmaelite merchants, and they brought him to Egypt, and sold him to Potiphar, the eunuch of Pharaoh...(12) And the sons of Jacob killed a young goat, and dipped the clothes of Joseph in its blood, and sent it to their father Jacob. (13) And it was on the tenth day of the seventh month and they stayed all day until evening, and they brought it to him; and he became fevered in his grief unto death, and said, “a wild beast has devoured Joseph.” And on that day all the men of this house were with him, and mourned and lamented with him all the day. (14) And his sons and his daughters arose to comfort him, but he could not be comforted on account of his son. (15) And on that day Balla heard that Joseph had been killed, and she died in her grief...and Dinah, his daughter died also after Joseph had been (supposedly) slain. (16) This threefold sorrow came over Israel in one month. (18) And he continued mourning for Joseph one year, and did not cease, saying, I will descend into my grave mourning for my son. (19) And on this account it is ordained for the children of Israel, that they shall mourn on the tenth of the seventh month, on the day when they brought the sad news concerning Joseph to his father Jacob...(20) And this day has been ordained that they shall lament on it over their sins, and on account of all their transgressions, and on account of all their error, that they shall cease themselves on this day once a year.”

               Atonement In The New Testament

                              The Life of Paul

60 A.D.: Acts 27:9: “and now when much time was spent, and then sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past.”

“When sailing was now dangerous” identifies the season of the year. Atonement is on or about October 3rd. The word “fast” refers to The Day of Atonement which Paul observed many years after Christ’s death. It is possible (probable) that Russia will launch its nuclear attack on The Day of Atonement resulting in “the apparent death of Joseph” (America). Will our children, on a future day of Atonement remember the national sins of America that led to this destruction?

                   What Is Christ Doing Today?

As mentioned before, the rituals of the law were given as a schoolmaster until Christ came. Let’s see what the schoolmaster taught concerning The Day of Atonement. In Leviticus 16 there is a ritual described wherein the High Priest (like Christ) enters into the Holy of Holies to make atonement for our sins into the wilderness. Perhaps symbolizing that our sins would be no more remembered (as far as the east is from the west). The chapter is well worth studying.

Sermon subjects: Exodus 12:26: “And it shall come to pass when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service.”

1). Tell them about the days of Noah.

2). Tell about Joseph blessing his children. (Genesis 48)

3). Tell them what happened to Joseph in Genesis 37.

4). Tell them about The Liberty Bell and the inscription thereon and what it means. (Leviticus 25:10)

5). Tell them about Christ, our Redeemer, and His making atonement for our sins.

6). Tell them what may happen on The Day of Atonement if we as a nation do not repent.

                      First Feast of Tabernacles

Abraham - First To Keep The Feast of Tabernacles

1867 B.C.? Jubilees 16:16: “And he (Abraham) built there an altar to the Lord who had saved him and had filled him with joy in the land of his pilgrimage, and he celebrated a festival of great joy in this month, seven days...and he was the first one to celebrate the feast of tabernacle on the earth.”

Going back to verse 1 we find why Abraham was joyful and full of thanksgiving. Jubilees 16:1: “And at the (first day) of the fourth month we appeared to Abraham...and we announced to him that a son would be given him from Sarah his wife...(3) and told her that name of her son...Isaac...(11) And in the middle of the sixth month the Lord visited Sarah, and did unto her as he said unto her, (Compare with Luke 1:26-=31)...(12) and we returned in the seventh month and found Sarah pregnant before us, and we blessed her and told her all things that had been commanded us concerning him (Abraham) that he should not die until six sons had been born unto him...but that in Isaac his name and seed should be called...(14) for he (Isaac) shall become the portion of the Most High, and among those of whom God is ruler will be his abode and all his seed, and it became a seed of the Lord, a nation of inheritance among all nations, and that it may become a kingdom and a priesthood and a holy nation. (15) And we went our way, and we announced to Sarah all that we had told him; for these rejoiced with exceeding great joy...(19) And thus he celebrated his festival seven days, rejoicing with his whole heart and his whole soul, and he and all those that were in his house, and there was not any stranger with him nor any bastard. (20) And he blessed his creator...(to verse 23) on this account it is ordained in the tablets of heaven concerning Israel that they shall celebrate The Festival of Tabernacles seven days in joy in the seven month...as an eternal law... (24) And to this there is no limit of days, but it is ordained over Israel as a festival that they shall observe it.”

                     Jacob Appoints Levi Priest

                             Eight Day Added

1700 B.C.: Jacob observes the Feast of Tabernacles. Jubilees 32, Jacob appoints Levi priest, keeps the feast and in verse 29 adds an additional day to the feast making it eight days. Holidays renewed (and Levi’s priesthood confirmed in Moses day?”

                       Moses Speaks To Israel

1421 B.C.: Moses provided five sermons and commanded that they be read to the people, once every seven years, at the Feat of

Tabernacles. This is covered earlier under the title Joshua Crosses the Jordan and Keeps the Passover.

                      Solomon Keeps The Feast

974 B.C.: For the whole story, read these verses in the following order. Two important items to be aware of are (1) the assembling of the elders of Jerusalem at feast time and (2) Solomon’s prayer and the answer parallel Joel 2:15-27. This parallel will be discussed a little later.

1). Solomon gathers The Elders (1 Kings 8:1-11; 2 Chronicles 5:2-14)

2). Psalms (Psalms 118:1-29; 115:1-18; 134:1-3; 135:1-26)

3). Solomon’s Address (1 Kings 8:12-21; 2 Chronicles 6-11)

4). Solomon’s Prayer (1 Kings 8:22-53; 1 Chronicles 6:12-42)

5). Solomon’s Benediction (1 Kings 8:54-66; 2 Chronicles 7:1-10)

6). Psalms (Psalms 991-9; and100:1-5)

7). Solomon’s Prayer Answered (1 Kings 9:1-9; 2 Chronicles 12-22)

Church Unity, A Time and Place

                         To Resolve difficulties

During the Feast of Tabernacles kept by Solomon in 974 B.C., Solomon gathered the Elders of Israel. This is recorded in 1 Kings 8:1-11 and 2 chronicles 5:2-14. We also have a calling together of the Apostles in Acts 15. One of the problems within some Christian churches is lack of good communications among liked minded ministers. This problem is aggravated by their fewness and physical distance from each other. Eventually resulting in splits within The Christian Right.

In 1 Kings 8 and 2 Chronicles 5 we find the Elders of Israel meeting together during the Feast of Tabernacles. What better time (and reason) could we find to gather together the ministers than during the three feast times. Not only do God’s feast days preserve our identity and faith, when properly observed they promote church unity.

                          Nehemiah Observes

                      The Feast of Tabernacles

444 B.C.: Nehemiah 8:14: (14) And they found written in the law which the Lord had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths (Temporary housing such as motels, tents, and campers) in the feast of the seventh month; (15) And threat they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, (Prepare for the feast). God forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as {it is} written. (16) So the people (Prepared) went forth, and brought {them}, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of the gate of Ephraim. (17) And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths; for since the days of Jeshua the son of Num unto that did had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness. (18) Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. (As commanded in Deuteronomy 31) And they kept the feast of seven days; and on the eighth day {was} a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.

              Jesus Christ Observes Tabernacles

28 A.D.: there are two Holy Convocations during this feast. The first on the 15th and the second on the 22nd of the 7th month. The Holy convocation of the 22nd is also know as The Last Great Day. The events of Tabernacles 28 A.D.:

1). The Feast Is At Hand (John 7:1-10)

2). Anticipation About Messiahship (John 7:11-36)

3). The Woman Taken In Adultery (John 8:1-11)

4). I Am The Light Of The World (John 8:12-30)

5). Spiritual Freedom (John 8:31-38)

6). Sons Of Abraham (John 8:39-59)

7). Healing Of The Man Born Blind (John 9:1-41)

8). I Am The Good Shepherd (John 10:1-21)

9). I Am The Fountain Of Living Waters (John 7:37-53)

These are the events and sermons of Christ during the feast that year. Some of the healings may be of prophetic significance as commented on earlier. Right now a few comments about the events of that feast.

John 7:11: “The Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?” It was His custom to observe the feasts. The Jews knew this and, therefore, looked for him knowing that he was there somewhere.

Verse 14, Jesus gave ministers an example to follow,”Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught.”

Some of His sermon subjects are mentioned above. He also taught the meaning of the ceremony. One of the ceremonies of the feast was the drawing of water from the pool of Siloam. The water was poured out on the altar, in the sight of all the people. It was at this time (John 7:37-39) Christ stood and cried, “if any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.” Jesus set the example of teaching the meaning of the feast days.

                    Paul Observed Tabernacles

54 A.D. Acts 18:21: “I Must by all means keep this feast hath cometh in Jerusalem.”

                   Tabernacles To Be Observed

“(16) And it shall come to pass, {that} every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of Hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. (17) And it shall be {that} whoso will not come up of {all} the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of Hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. (18) And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that {have} no {rain}; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. (19) This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.” (Zechariah 1416-19)

                  The Abomination of Desolation

1). Mark 13:14: “But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation...standing where it ought not, then let them that be in Judea flee to the mountains. This is something that happens suddenly. A time of great danger.

Question: What if “the Abomination that maketh desolate (Daniel 12:11) and the Abomination of desolation are Gomer and all his bands” standing on the North American continent, in America (standing in the Holy Place. (Matthew 24:15) Standing where it ought not (Mark 13:15) in fulfillment of Ezekiel 38 and 39.

2). We are promised Divine protection if we observe God’s holidays, Notice Exodus 34:24: “...neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the Lord thy God thrice in the year.” (Verse 22, ‘thrice in year’ is defined as (1) the feast of weeks’ (Passover-unleavened bread), (2) firstfruits of the wheat harvest (Pentecost) and (3) the feast of ingathering at the years end (tabernacles). We do not as a nation observe these feasts, therefore we are not protected from enemy invasion.

3). Those observing the Feast of Tabernacles would already be in a place of safety in fulfillment of Isaiah 26:20: “Come my people, enter thyself into thy chambers, and shut thy door about thee hide themselves as it were for a little moment. (About 8-21 days at Tabernacles or 6 hours - midnight until dawn - on the Passover?” until the indignation be overpast.”

4). Notice the dates of the events in 1 Chronicles 7. In Verses 1-7 Solomon is keeping The Feast of Tabernacles. On the 23rd day of the 7th month Solomon sent the people home. (Verse 10) That night (12) the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, “I have heard thy prayer,” (Chapter 6:12-42) “If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways then will hear from heaven...”

It may be that we cannot correctly understand prophesy without a good understanding of God’s feast days. Notice (Joel 2:15-20)

15). “Blow the Trumpet, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly. (Feast of Trumpets and Atonement)

16). Gather the people, sanctify the congregations, (Feast of Tabernacles) assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts; let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber and the bride out of her closet.

17). Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, let them say, Spar thy people O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

18). Then the Lord will be jealous for His land, and pity His people.

19). God will answer and say unto His people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wind, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will not more make you a reproach among the heathen.

20). But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and I will drive him off into a land barren and desolate..l.

Solomon’s prayer, prayed during the Feast of Tabernacles? (2 Chronicles 6:12-42) God’s answer the day after the Feast of Tabernacle. (2 Chronicles 7:12:22)

                 The Woman Taken In Adultery

During the feast of 28 A.D., there was a woman taken in the act of adultery, she was brought before Christ. The woman may represent Israel, America, the bride of Christ. The accusers would be Gog, Magog, Gomer and all his bands. (Ezekiel 38-39) They come against America in some future Feast of Tabernacles to “stone” America to death. They are not successful as indicated by Christ’s words: “Where are your accusers?” (The question’s answer is in Isaiah 17:14; 29:7-8 and 41:11) and “Neither do I accuse you.”

Healing of the Man Born Blind

Also during the feast of 28 A.D., Christ healed a blind man. America represents the blind man of John 9:1-41. A brief look at America proves that, regarding God’s Law we are ‘blind as a bat.’ When Russia invades we lose our blindness. The blind man’s words upon receiving his sight were, “He (Christ) is a prophet.” America’s words? “Christ is our King and Savior.”

            Feast of Tabernacles Sermon Subjects

And it shall come to pass when your children shall say unto you, “What mean ye by this service?” Tell them:

1). About Abraham, who kept the first Feast of Tabernacles.

2). About Jacob, Moses, and the others that kept the feast.

3). Tell them about Solomon and 2 Chronicles 7:14.

4). As Moses prepared the people to enter into the promised land, prepare today’s Christians to enter into the Kingdom of God by teaching the Book of Deuteronomy. That is Moses’ five sermons. Deuteronomy 32:12-15 “(11) When all Israel is come to appear before thy God in the place where He shall choose. That thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. (13) And that their children which have not known anything, may hear, and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as you live in the land whither you go to possess it.” (Takne in part from “Bible Holidays and Their Prophetic Significance to America, by William W. Strittmatter, P.O. Box 481, Lakemore, Ohio 44250)
