These same celebrities have historically made it known that
if it is for Israel they are for it. Lieberman is.
WHAT COMMITMENT HAVE CELEBRITY LEADERS MADE TO ISRAEL THAT MAY
PREVENT SOME
FROM TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT JOSEPH LIEBERMAN? HERE ARE SOME OF
THEIR OWN
WORDS:
**1971: Evangelist Mike Evans, in his book, America's Key To Survival,
wrote, "As a spokesman for Israel who has read this book, you (the reader)
will be able to explain why Israel is America's key to survival."
**1981: Falwell was quoted as saying, "I doubt if there is an organization
in America that is so committed to the Jewish People anywhere and to the
State of Israel. In fact, you cannot belong to the Moral Majority without
committing yourself to the welfare of the State of Israel?" May 6, 1981,
"New American Magazine".
**March 1985: Jerry Falwell, speaking to a conservative Rabbinical
Assembly in Miami, pledged to "mobilize 70 million conservative Christians
for Israel."
**May 15, 1995: "Israel is headed for an inevitable nuclear exchange?their
only hope of survival is a preemptive nuclear hit?" said Evangelist Chuck
Missler, on his website, encouraging a nuclear annihilation.
**April 10, 1997: Judeo‑Christians placed a pro‑Israel ad in the New York
Times, using Biblical text for their assertion that "Jerusalem has been the
spiritual and political capital of only the Jewish people for 3000 years."
This preposterous statement included the signatures of Pat Robertson, Ralph
Reed of Christian Coalition, E.E. McAteer of the Religious Roundtable, and
Jerry Falwell, former Presidential candidate and founder of now‑defunct
Moral Majority.
**January, 1998: Jerry Falwell helped arrange a meeting between Prime
Minister Netanyahu and Christian supporters of Israel, including Southern
Baptist Convention leaders Morris Chapman and Richard L. Land, as well as
John Hagee of San Antonio. Falwell told Netanyahu, "There are 200,000
evangelical pastors in America, and we're asking them all to go into their
pulpits and use their influence in support of the state of Israel and the
prime minister."
**April, 1998: Falwell and Netanyahu addressed the "National Unity
Coalitions For Israel," where Falwell told attendees they must support
Israel in its claim to all of Jerusalem.
**April 1998: Netanyahu addressed the "Voices United for Israel"
conference. He sought the pledged support of 3000 evangelists including
Ralph Reed, Kay Arthur of Precepts Ministries, Jan Hanson of Women Aglow,
and Brendt Gustavson of the National Religious Broadcasters. "We have no
greater friends than the people sitting in this room", he said.
**1998: John Hagee raised $1 million for Israel to resettle Soviet Jews on
Palestinian lands.
PLEDGING ALLEGANCE TO ONE NATION UNDER ISRAEL:
April 29‑May 3 1998: The Christian Alliance for Israel sponsored a "State
of Israel 50th (Jubilee) Anniversary" Conference, Orange County Convention
Center, Orlando, Florida, where seven thousand Christian leaders were
reported in attendance by the Committee, featuring keynote speaker, Alan
Keyes. All attendees were asked to take a loyalty pledge to the State of
Israel. That pledge, dated May 24, 1998, was entitled "ANTI‑SEMITISM
RESOLUTION, which stated, in part:
WHEREAS: IT (Anti‑Semitism) WAS PERPETRATED AND PARTICIPATED IN BY THE
EMERGENT GENTILE CHURCH WHICH FALSELY CONCLUDED THAT THE JEWS
CRUCIFIED
JESUS, AND....
WHEREAS: THEY (early Christians) ALSO CONCLUDED THAT GOD'S COVENANTS
AND
PROMISES TO ISRAEL WERE NO LONGER VALID AND, BY FIAT OF THE EARLY
CHURCH
FATHERS, WERE EXPROPRIATED BY THE CHURCH, WHICH DESCRIBED ITSELF AS
THE NEW
"ISRAEL OF GOD," ....
BE IT RESOLVED THAT ...THE MOST VICIOUS CHAPTERS IN MAN'S INHUMANITY
TO
MAN... AND INCITED HATRED OF JEWS...IS BASED LARGELY ON THE NOT
BIBLICAL
AND UNPROVABLE TEACHING THAT JEWS CRUCIFIED JESUS.
AND ... IN THE 16TH CENTURY, THE ANTI‑SEMITIC RHETORIC OF MARTIN
LUTHER
HELPED CREATE THE FRAMEWORK OF HITLER'S ASSAULT ON JEWISH PEOPLE. I
HEREBY.....
SUPPORT, UNCONDITIONALLY, THE CONTINUED WELL BEING OF THE STATE OF
ISRAEL,
BASED ON THE BIBLICAL MANDATE TO BLESS HER (Genesis 12:3), ENCOURAGE
HER
(Isaiah 40:1,2), AND SPEAK OUT ON HER BEHALF (Isaiah 62:1,7);
I WISH TO SEND A STRONG STATEMENT TO THE WHITE HOUSE, STATE
DEPARTMENT, AND
CONGRESS ....THAT JERUSALEM BE MAINTAINED AS THE UNDIVIDED CAPITAL
OF
ISRAEL; ...
