The following is from Texe Marrs publication "Flashpoint." He titled the article "Project Abaddon." UFOs; is there a colossal conspiracy and cover up? The Pentagon, the CIA, and the FBI refuse to divulge Top Secret documents about UFO investigations. Why? For years we have been bombarded with sensational reports of mysterious UFO sightings and alarming alien abductions. Hundreds of documented and reliable UFO incidents are on record, being reported by experienced U.S. Air Force and commercial airline pilots, NASA astronauts, engineers, scientists, even a former president of the United States.

Unquestionably, something is going on; something both ominous and frightening. Something which; very, very soon, may totally and dramatically change our lives. It might even end this world as we know it. That is why it is important that we discover now the astonishing truth about the greatest of all puzzles and deceptions; the manipulation of mankind by the dark forces (The Jews but he is afraid to mention them) behind the invasion of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs)!

World Unity and UFOs:"I often wonder how quickly the peoples of the world would be united if we were threatened by an alien invasion," pondered (then) President Ronald Reagan in a major speech to the United Nations General Assembly. How eye-opening that the President of the United States would make such a comment to representatives of the 176 nations comprising this globalist organization.

President Reagan is not the only world leader to voice such a concern. Russia's communist party chief Mikhail Gorbachev stated much the same thing: What if hostile UFO aliens were to attack mankind on a mission to conquer and destroy? Would mankind unite  to stave off defeat by a dreaded, common foe? Humanity was, of course, once united in a vain attempt to build the Tower of Babel. But God thwarted that evil effort. Could a UFO threat fuel yet another attempt to unite all men and nations?

The Planned Invasion Is Now in Progress: In fact, as I demonstrate in my investigative audiotape report, Project Abaddon, and in my sequel, Project Abaddon II, there is planned an invasion of this planet by evil aliens and "extraterrestrials" bent on our destruction. Indeed, this invasion and attack has been proceeding now for many years; at least since 1947. In recent years, the scope and breadth of the UFO assault has expanded by exponential proportions. Thus, we are literally plagued today with UFO sightings, including reported cases of alien abduction and vile experimentation on human beings in the chambers of mysterious spacecraft.

Believable Reports and Questionable Theories: Many influential and fully believable authorities claim to have observed UFOs. General Nathan Twining, respected, former Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, once stated: "The UFO phenomenon is something real and not imaginary of fictitious."

Former President Jimmy Carter testified to seeing what he believes was a UFO. "It seemed to move toward us," the President recalled, "Then return, then depart. It was bluish, reddish, and luminous."

Who's behind the UFO phenomenon? Some say that UFO alien beings are for real that they are physical entities from another planet or from a nearby star system. They claim further that the government is covering up their existence. Some say that the U.S. government is even cooperating with interplanetary, UFO alien civilizations, allowing citizens to be kidnaped, to have genetic experimentation conducted on their human bodies, etc.

These theorists suggest that when President Ronald Reagan gave his now famous speech at the U.N. in which he mentioned a "what if" situation in the event UFOs were to launch an invasion against the planet, he was revealing an actual, future event that is to occur. A carefully contrived and stage-managed event. This, they say, is to be a dramatic, heart-stopping episode in which UFOs will be observed en masse in our skies, followed by our government leaders announcing that, to meet the demands of the superior, technologically advanced UFO forces, they, our leaders, have agreed to establish the New World Order, including a World Government.

Following the "surrender" to the UFOs, all the worlds’ religions would promptly be merged, and all national borders erased. Global unity, as in ancient Babylon, would finally be established. Naturally, the conspiring UFO commanders and Earth leaders would tell us that this is for our own good; that the UFO aliens simply are coercing us to do what is in our own self interest.

My own extensive research and investigation only partially confirms and corroborates these theories. However, it is a fact that the U.S. government knows much more than it is revealing to us about UFOs. The CIA, the FBI, and other government spy and police agencies, under the cloak of a "Top Secret" security classification, refuse to divulge what we, as citizens, have the right to know about the UFO visitors.

Secret CIA Projects: We are also not being fully informed about what our own government has been doing. We are kept in the dark about secret CIA scientific projects, for example, which apparently are related to the UFO phenomenon. I refer here to the CIA's highly classified MK-Ultra project, which involves the training and indoctrination of selected, multiple-personality assassins.

These are not only people whose minds are programmed to kill, but also include a number of human subjects who, under the influence of chemical agents administered by the CIA and after repeated torture and hypnotic brainwashing sessions, are given selective, implanted "memories”; which include intense recall of UFO sightings and abduction experiences.

It can also be proven that CIA medical doctors employed by the U.S. government are implanting in the brains and ears of selected subjects high technology devices and, possibly, microchips. Reportedly, such devices; directly or indirectly, stimulate brain centers, fostering mental imagery of UFOs.

Conclusions: The Relevance of Bible Prophecy: What are my conclusions about UFOs? As I explain in great detail in my audiotapes, I am convinced that mankind is now confronted with a combination of human connivery and plotting, and satanic, otherworldly mischief. Bible prophecy forewarned us of this very thing.

It is interesting and informative that so many UFO reports describe encounters with figures from ancient Babylon, such as the goddesses Ishtar and Ashtar. In Communion, his #1 New York Times bestselling book, Whitley Streiber describes, for example, how he was abducted by a triangle-shaped, crystal-like UFO spacecraft. While on board, he was hypnotically and physically restrained and forced to participate in a sacred sexual ritual which, he believes, was some kind of mystical, religious initiation.

Streiber further reports that the female alien who seduced him appeared to be Ishtar, the ancient, Babylonian Mother Goddess, also called Ashtar. Amazingly, the Bible, in Revelation 17,  prophecies that a worldwide religious system of evil deception (Judaism) will take shape in the last days, to be known as "Mystery, Babylon the Great, The Mother of Harlots."

Bible prophecy thus has much to offer us in our quest to understand why the UFOs are here and why their occupants are so keenly interested in the human population. What we discover is that, just as God's Word explains, Satan has always operated on two fronts  simultaneously; through human agents but also through the spiritually powerful, supernatural  realm. The Bible reveals, in Revelation 9:11, that in the last days a special type of demon power will be unleashed on the earth. This power will involve the assault on human beings by what appears to be spacecraft or vehicles, with "wings" and with "breastplates of iron."

The wicked entities who control these craft, the Bible says, use them to hurt and torment the helpless people of planet earth. But more frightening than this is the identity of the leader of these hostile and cruel, non-human entities. He is the dark angel whose realm is the "the bottomless pit." God's Word reveals that he is the one whose "name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon." You and I, as Christians, know him by yet another name: Satan or Lucifer.

Christ identified the evil, malicious angel, Lucifer, as "the prince of the power of the air." How appropriate a title for the one who, today, works with the aid of both human conspirators and demon spirits to deceive all of us through the magical and black imagery of UFOs and aliens! No wonder the Bible warns us, "Be sober,  be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring  lion, walketh about, seeking  whom he may devour."

Texe Marrs does not identify the fact that the U.S. government  has flying saucers and other types of so-called UFO aircraft. This is what those working for the New World Order plan to use to frighten the people of the world into the One World Government they have been working on for centuries. And any invasions by aliens will be humans whose appearance has been surgically altered, or have had their genes altered during pregnancy  thereby causing mutations which will appear to be some sort of alien from another world!

This leads us to "Peace, Bricks and Slime": In Genesis 11:1-9, the Bible gives the account of the Tower of Babel which occurred only a few centuries after the flood. Only nine verses describe the events surrounding the building of the Tower.

No doubt it was God's purpose to have Moses record the events at Babel without giving too many details. Obviously, more was involved in the building of the Tower and the spiritual influences behind it than at first glance. Basically, what is recorded here is man's first attempt at world government and, like the present day "one world" or "New World Order" movement, the Tower of Babel was done apart from Jesus Christ.

God the Father has ordained a coming world government, which is the so-called Antichrist, but it will be destroyed soon and the world government of Christ will come, and not due to political or economic manipulation with hidden agendas. Instead, it will be formed by the realization by the nations that the rulership of Christ was just what this world has needed all along. [1]

Yet in Genesis, we are told that mankind assembled together for the purpose of "building a tower" whose top (leaders or head) would reach unto heaven. Thus, it was an attempt by the builders of Babel to somehow spiritually reach unto the heights of heaven through the establishment of a political-religious system which would allow them (since they were the builders of it) to gain the glory and fame through this achievement in order to, as Genesis 11:4 says, "make a name for themselves."

While the stated motives of today's One World movement are to further the good of the human race and establish world peace, might the underlying desire of its leaders be to gain glory and "make a name for themselves?"

Also, while many think of the One World government movement as being merely political and economic, we suspect that, when all is said and done, there will be found to have been a strong New Age religious undercurrent, which in reality is Judaism in disguise, if not an outright occult influence among many of the chief leaders.

It was Satan's desire to "ascend into heaven, and exalt my throne above the stars."[2] Was Satan the spiritual "top," or "head," or the Tower of Babel which attempted to reach into heaven?

The only way for man to "reach unto heaven" is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ [3] No amount of self-effort can make peace with God and get man into heaven. By attempting to establish peace through international political organizations such as the United Nations (our modern day Tower of Babel), man is, in essence, saying to Christ, "We don't need you."

The world leaders, who hold press conferences to declare that peace had been established, foster the view that peace is merely the absence of war or conflict. It is not. The declarations of [4]peace, we so often hear, are merely superficial. David exclaimed to the Lord: "Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts."[5]

David realized that true peace must come form the heart. Galatians 5:22 reveals that peace is a fruit of the Holy Spirit; for all true peace originates from God and is imparted to the heart of man via the holy Spirit.

The Pharisees looked good and righteous on the outside, but on the inside it was a different story. Jesus said of them: "O generation (race) of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brigneth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things."[6]

Only God given peace in the heart of man can lead to a true declaration of peace. God declares: "I create the fruit of lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him (who trusts in God). But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked."[7]

Today the nations of the world, including our own, are like a troubled sea of agitation and conflict. There is no real rest. We observe the spectacle of various officials from the Clinton Administration (as well as with previous administrations) running here and there amongst the global hot spots attempting to arrange cease fire and peace agreements; or to patch together with the spit and glue of diplomacy existing agreements which have fallen apart.

Yes, many may quote Jesus' statement, "Blessed are the peacemakers[8]," as justification for all such efforts. While this is true, how can our diplomats lay claim to this verse when the One World Order they are endeavoring to establish leaves out, for all practical purposes, Jesus Christ, who is the Prince of Peace? In fact, in examining the agenda of the One World crowd, we would find it is part of their plans to erode and undermine Biblical Christianity in this and other nations.

We do not wish to sound like a broken record, but we wish to again point out that the ever growing crescendo of peace declarations, when there is no real peace, is a major event sign to those looking for the Lord' s Second appearing.

Jeremiah was not only speaking of his day, but prophetically of our day as well when of Israel's leaders he wrote: "They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying Peace, peace; when there is no peace."[9]

Ezekiel likewise speaks of the leaders who have seen a "vain vision and lying divination."  Ezekiel goes on to say: "Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered mortar."[10]

Since the inception of the United Nations it has been pointed out by many True Pastors of Israel, men such as Howard Rand, have pointed to the United Nations as being the "wall of untempered mortar." In fact, as he noted, the design of the United Nations actually resembles a big wall.

In the account of the Tower of Babel we read: "And they (the world leaders of that day) said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar."[11]

The "slime" used for mortar was bitumen, which is asphalt in its natural state. It is a flammable type of petroleum product, being found as a solid or semisolid. How interesting that the plans for bringing about the One World Government have been held together by the West's need for Middle East petroleum; and the manipulation of oil prices.

Of further significance is the fact that the Tower of Babel, which was to "reach unto heaven," was made of brick; a product of man's hands. The purpose of the Tower of Babel and the United Nations was and has been to achieve world unity and peace. [12] But as we noted, peace can only come from God. Man originally had peace with God until sin broke that peace and, in order for that peace to have been restored, it was necessary for blood to be shed. A sacrifice had to be made.

Thus it was just after the fall of Adam that God made coats of skins for Adam and Eve [13] in order to hide their nakedness and shame. This, of course, required the slaying (sacrifice) of an animal. Yet all such sacrifices only pointed to the sacrifice which was to be made one day by the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Of this Paul wrote: "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh."[14]

In that last verse, Paul was directly quoting from Isaiah 57:19. In so doing, Paul was showing how Christ fulfilled Isaiah's words in declaring true peace, and made possible by the shedding of His Blood.

Except for the altars constructed for theTabernacle and the Temple according to God's specific instructions, all sacrifice was to be done upon altars of natural materials of either earth or stone with nothing man made. The reason being that the sacrifice for sin and the establishment of peace is a work of God and not man.

As such, Isaiah describes Israel as: "A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burned incense upon altars of brick."[15]

Just as the ancients at Babel tried to establish peace and reach unto God with their sacrifices made in a tower of brick, so the offering of modern mankind in their man made wall of untempered mortar are unacceptable in that they deny the Lordship of Christ and His Blood as the only way mankind will achieve lasting peace. Ezekiel warns: "Say unto them which daub it with untempered mortar, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it...Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it."[16]

The Lord's reasons for destroying this "wall" are next given: "So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation (spiritual motivations behind its building) thereof shall be discovered (made visible to men), and it shall fall."[17]

As we observe the ongoing peace talks in Bosnia, the Middle East and elsewhere, and hear declarations of peace being made, we must keep in mind Paul's words: "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Pace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief."[18]

Therefore, to the believer in Christ, Paul advises: "Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let we watch and be sober . . . For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ."[19]

Shutting the Book: Judeo-Christians have long been deficient in carrying out the original purpose which our forefathers intended to be their prime objective; that is, the wide and unhampered dissemination of the teachings of the Scriptures. From the inception of America, the printing press had made the Bible available to all and for the first time in the history of the human race it had become a "little book" to be opened in the hands of all the people. Multitudes became acquainted with the wonderful truths set forth in Holy Writ, and its teachings were propagated far and wide. It wrought changes which affected the whole course of human history, leading to the foundation of America. The Bible itself played a major part in the birth of the United States (the lies of the Antichrist Jews to the contrary notwithstanding)  men and women were so well acquainted with the story the Bible tells that its recorded incidents and manner of speech were commonly appropriated in the idiomatical expressions of the day. It was accepted practice to illustrate a given situation by reference to some basic Scriptural fact and no one was so ignorant of the bible as to fail to understand the meaning of the parallels drawn. But all this has since changed. Today the church attendance of Judeo-Christians no longer assures one of acquiring an understanding of the Bible. In fact, the opposite is generally the case, as the pastors, ministers, etc., in the pulpits of America are nothing but mouth pieces - poll parrots - spewing out Jewish lies and deceptions. Which results in gross ignorance of the Bible's simplest facts is displayed among Christians when one converses with them about Scriptural teachings. Even among the ecclesiastical leaders and so-called church workers there is evidence of a superficial acquaintance only with the instructions set forth in the Book whose message they are called upon to convey to those they are supposed to shepherd.

It is safe to say, under present religious methods, that one could attend every church service possible during a lifetime and still be so little acquainted with the Scriptures that he or she would flunk the simplest quiz on Biblical subjects. When, for instance, someone does successfully answer the $64,000 Bible question on a TV quiz, millions marvel, when instead they should mourn the implied indictment of their own abysmal ignorance. Millions of our ancestors would have easily answered every question so far presented on these quiz programs, but today the open Bible has become a closed Book through the neglect on the part of the Christian world to study and assimilate the facts of the story it tells.

Because the one stabilizing ingredient inhuman society is no longer exerting its influence upon old and young, men and women today have departed from the paths of righteousness and one extremely disturbing result is the increase in juvenile delinquency. Insofar as church leadership is concerned, those who should be supporting the authenticity and accuracy of the Scriptures have often undertaken to undermine its authority and power by denying its Authorship and questioning the inspiration that vouches for the accuracy of its teachings.

If the citizens of Great Britain and the United States were God fearing and faithful to His Word, and were acquainted with all its precepts and teachings, atheistical Russia, specifically its leaders in the Kremlin, enemies of God and of His Kingdom, would not now have the slightest possibility of prevailing against them. But, having lost our armor of faith, including the breastplate of righteousness and the sword of the Word and of the Spirit, we are no longer in possession of the kind of weapons of defense that would overcome these evil foes. Our leaders, both national and ecclesiastical, have turned aside from the Divine instructions that detail how we are to meet and defeat the most formidable foes that could possibly be arrayed against us. The Lord God has promised to defend His people when they are righteous, but righteousness stems from a knowledge of what God requires of us and only an understanding of His Written Word will give us the needed direction.

Because today our nation has lost the vision of its destiny, and its leaders know not what God requires of them, we stand defenseless before an aggressive foe when we might be occupying a position of strength, with the assurance that the Mighty Ones of God, wielding the weapons of His indignation, are in readiness and waiting to turn the battle against the enemy when he elects to strike.

Must we be called upon to pay a price in blood before our people become willing to open the Book again? Unless a spiritual awakening comes very soon, beginning with our leaders and reaching to every citizen in the nation, that is the price we shall be called upon to pay to compel us to turn bck to God as a nation.

George Washington’s Vision:The first President of the United States was George Washington; who during the war for independence had a vision, he later called "America's Three Great Perils." This vision was related to Mr. Bradshaw, reporter for the National Tribune and was published in Vol. 4, No. 12, December 1880. It was told to him by a Mr. Anthony Sherman on the Fourth of July 1859 in Independence Square. Mr. Sherman was at that time 99 years of age, his eyes dimming but were rekindled as he gazed upon Independence Hall, which he had come to visit once more. Where he related to Mr. Sherman:  "I want to tell you an incident in Washington's life ‑‑ one which no one alive knows of but myself; and, you will before long see it verified."

He paused and then went on to say: "From the opening of the Revolution, we experienced all phases of fortune, good and ill. The darkest period we ever had, I think, was when Washington after several reverses, retreated to Valley Forge where he resolved to pass the winter of 1777. Oh! I have often seen the tears coursing down our dear commander's careworn cheeks, as he would be conversing with a confidential officer about the condition of his soldiers. You have doubtless heard the story of Washington's going to the thicket to pray. Well, he also used to pray to God in secret for aid and comfort. One day, I remember well, the chilly winds whistled through the leafless trees, though the sky was cloudless and the sun shone brightly, he remained in his quarters nearly all the afternoon alone. When he came out I noticed that his face was a shade paler than usual and there seemed to be something on his mind of more than ordinary importance. Returning just after dusk, he dispatched an orderly to the quarters of the officer I mentioned, and was presently in attendance. After a preliminary conversation of about half an hour, Washington gazing upon his companion with that strange look of dignity which he alone could command, said to the latter: 'I do not know whether it is owing to the anxiety of my mind, or what, but this afternoon, while preparing a dispatch, something seemed to disturb me.

       Looking up, I beheld, standing opposite me, a singularly beautiful being. So astonished was I, for I had given strict orders not to be disturbed that it was some moments before I found language to inquire the cause of the visit. A second, a third, and even a fourth time did I repeat my question, but received no answer from my mysterious visitor, except a slight raising of the eyes. By this time I felt strange sensations through me, and I would have risen, but the riveted gaze of the being before me rendered volition impossible. I assayed once more to speak, but my tongue had become useless, as though it had become paralyzed.

     A new influence, mysterious, potent, irresistible, took possession. All I could do was gaze steadily, vacantly at my unknown visitor. Gradually the surrounding atmosphere seemed as though it was becoming filled with sensations, and grew luminous. Everything about me seemed to rarefy, including the mysterious visitor. I began to feel as one dying, or rather to experience the sensations which I have sometimes imagined accompany dissolution. I did not think, I did not reason, I did not move; all were alike impossible. I was only conscious of gazing fixedly, vacantly at my companion. Presently I heard a voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn,' while at the same time my visitor extended an arm eastwardly. I then beheld a heavy vapor at some distance rising fold upon fold. This gradually dissipated, and I looked out upon a strange scene. Before me lay spread out in one vast plain all the countries of the world; Europe, Asia, Africa and America. I saw rolling and tossing between Europe and America the billows of the Atlantic; and between Asia and America lay the Pacific.

       'Son of the Republic,' said the same mysterious voice as before, 'look and learn.' At that moment I beheld a dark shadowy being as an angel standing, or rather floating in mid‑air, between Europe and America. Dipping water out of the ocean in the hallow of his hand, he cast some on Europe. Immediately a cloud arose from these countries, and joined in mid‑ocean. For awhile it remained stationary, and then moved slowly westward until it enveloped America in its murky folds. Sharp flashes of lightning gleamed through it at intervals, and I heard smothered groans and cries of the American people. A second time the angel dipped water from the ocean and sprinkled it out as before. The dark cloud was then drawn back to the ocean in whose billows it sank from view.

       A third time I heard the mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn,' and I cast my eyes upon America and beheld villages and towns and cities spring up one after another until the whole land from the Atlantic to the Pacific was dotted with them. Again I heard the mysterious voice say, 'Son of the Republic, the end of the century cometh, look and learn.'

       This time the dark shadowy angel turned his face southward, and from Africa I saw an ill‑omened specter approach our land. It flitted slowly over every town and city of the latter. The inhabitants presently set themselves in battle against each other. As I continued looking, I saw a bright angel on whose brow rested a crown of light, on which was traced the word, 'Union,' bearing the American Flag which he placed between the divided nation, and said, 'Remember, ye are brethren.' Instantly the inhabitants, casting down their weapons, become friends once more, and united around the National Standard.

       Again I heard the mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn.' At this the dark shadowy angel placed a trumpet to his lips and blew three distinct blasts; and taking water from the ocean, he sprinkled it on Europe, Asia and Africa.

       Then my eyes beheld a fearful scene; from each of these countries arose thick black clouds that were soon joined into one. And throughout this mass there gleamed a dark red light by which I was seeing hordes of armed men, who, moving with the cloud, marched by land and sailed by sea to America, which was enveloped in the volume of cloud. And I dimly saw these vast armies devastate the whole country and burn villages, towns and cities that I beheld springing up. As my ears listened to the thundering of the cannon, slashing swords, and the shouts and cries of millions in mortal combat, I again heard the mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn.' When the voice had ceased, the dark angel placed his trumpet once more to his mouth and blew a long and fearful blast. Instantly a light as of a thousand suns shown down from above me, and pierced and broke into fragments the dark cloud which had enveloped America. At the same moment the angel upon whose head still shown the word 'Union' and who bore our national flag in one hand a sword in the other, descended from the heavens attended by legions of white spirits. These immediately joined the inhabitants of America, whom I perceived were well nigh overcome, but who, immediately taking courage again, closed up their broken ranks and renewed the battle. Again, amid the fearful noise of the conflict I heard the mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn.' As the voice ceased, the shadowy angel for the last time dipped water from the ocean and sprinkled it upon America. Instantly the dark cloud rolled back, together with the armies it had brought, leaving the inhabitants of the land victorious.

       Then once mere I beheld the villages, towns and cities springing up where I'd seen them before while the bright angel, planting the azure standard he had brought in the midst of them, cried with a loud voice: 'While the stars remain, and the heavens send down dew upon the earth, so long shall the Union last.' And taking from his brow the crown on which blazoned the word 'Union' he placed it upon the standard while the people, kneeling down, said 'Amen.'

       The scene instantly began to fade and dissolve, and I, at last, saw nothing but the rising, curling vapor I at first beheld. This also disappeared, and I found myself once more gazing upon the mysterious visitor who, in the same voice I had heard before said, 'Son of the Republic, what you have seen is thus interpreted. Three great perils will come upon the Republic. The more fearful is the third (the comment on his word 'third' is: 'The help against the third peril comes in the form of Divine Assistance') passing which the whole world united shall not prevail against her. Let every child of the Republic learn to live for his God, his land and Union.' With these words the vision vanished, and I started from my seat and felt that I had seen a vision wherein had been shown me, the birth, the progress and the destiny of the United States.'

       Such my friends, were the words I heard from Washington's own lips, and America would do well to profit by them."
